We’re back to the DiMera toast to Father when Lexie stumbles out of the tunnels. Abe can hardly speak, but Theo hurries over. No one’s saying a word until Lexie collapses and EJ catches her.

Tony calls an ambulance, Abe tries talking to his unconscious wife and Chad demands answers — but Theo’s the one who confirms Lexie was in the pod. “I didn’t know this was going to work,” EJ practically giggles in delight. But Kristen rolls her eyes, doubting that’s even Lexie, while Gabi sips wine, adding color commentary. They all devolve into fighting. Welcome back, Lexie!

Tony Has a Plan

Leo and Cat are back outside; she decided it was too dangerous to keep looking. They part ways and Cat heads into the mansion where she gets the rundown. EJ’s gone and Abe and Theo are off with Lexie.

Kristen’s got little interested in “fake” Lexie and Tony has business to attend to. But Chad’s heading to the hospital! Between that and Kristen going to get some air, Tony can turn his attention to the “gold digger.” He has a proposition for dear Gabriella. (But of course!) The long and the short: Tony doesn’t want Johnny running DiMera — he’d rather have Gabi. That’s harsh.

Kristen Has a Warning

EJ yells at Dr. Rolf down in the tunnels, ticked off that he didn’t get his big reveal because Rolf was hiding from someone. (Someone being Cat and Leo!) But the doctor is just giddy with excitement.

Kristen spots a bloody Sophia again out in the garden and loses it. She’s having a full breakdown when Dr. Rolf finds her yelling at Sophia to stay dead, and assumes she’s talking about Lexie. Kristen is not in the mood: “Whoever or whatever you and my brother bought back, it is only going to cause pain and misery to the people who love Lexie.” The dead need to stay dead.

Will Paulina Be Left Behind?

Abe and Theo hurry to the hospital and fill Kayla in — she’s not surprised for more than a second, figuring all the EJ drama now makes sense. It is, after all, a day ending in “y” in Salem. As Abe and Theo talk over what Lexie’s son knew and when, Paulina shows up. Her face drops when they tell her it’s Lexie, but she bucks up, and encourages Abe to “go be with your wife.”

Alone, Paulina admits to Theo that she knew, too. He just gently promises that everything will work out the way it’s supposed, then goes to give a DNA sample.

Did EJ Make a Mistake?

Leo’s already lurking around the hospital when Chad shows up and tells him to zip it about Lexie until they find out what’s going on. Next up, Cat and EJ arrive, which is about when Chad warns his brother that “there will be repercussions for this.”

Kayla drops by to fill them all in on what she knows and speak with EJ not-so-privately about his “immoral” and “depraved” experiments on his own sister to make a buck. EJ’s cold fury as he tells Kayla her “only job right now is to take care of my sister.”

Cat rejoins her boss, who’s in a foul mood and asks if she has any idea who Dr. Rolf could have heard down where Lexie was being cared for. Chad and Leo both hurry over, only for Leo to say he — and only he — was in the tunnels!

In the Show’s Final Moments

Tony insists that his offer stands regardless of Gabi’s claim outcome. No need to drop it.But reminding her that she’s the reason Philip’s “whole family company could go under” pushes her over the edge. Gabi refuses and walks out.

Chad cautiously asks his brother that if they “ever found Abigail… could you… is it even possible?” EJ says that Lexie was preserved shortly after death. Anything else… (OK, but obviously, Chad. We know hope springs eternal, but you can’t bring a decomposed corpse or a skeleton back to life.)

Abe tearfully talks to Lexie, grabbing her hand and wondering if this is really happening. It’s like no time has passed for her. As he talks, her eyes begin to move and Lexie wakes up. “Abe…” She starts crying as he promises he’s there for her. “I love you, Abe,” she gets out, and Paulina watches from the doorway, heartbroken as Abe responds: “I love you, too.”
