Brady and Sarah check in with each other in the square, both somewhat shellshocked after Sophia’s supposed suicide. He’s holding off on telling Rachel until they figure out what happened to the teen. Sarah tells Brady about Amy telling everyone that Holly drove Sophia to kill herself. Brady says he spoke with Sophia’s dad (Who we’re about to meet!) and he’s going through it, too, of course.
Are Tate and Holly In Trouble?
Holly drops in on Tate at work — she’s sure she bombed her chemistry final. But that’s a problem the dojo master has anymore! Which she points out when he tries telling her it’s not a big deal. Then he says the one word he needs to learn you never say to a partner — “overreacting” — and they start fighting like they’re on antipsychotics again, even though they aren’t. Because Sophia’s dead.

Bringing that up gets them to calm down and apologize a bit, just before Tate rushes off to his next job. But then he runs into Brady in the square — while Sarah joins Holly for dinner in the Pub.
Brady and Sarah Step In
Tate tells his dad how “complicated” it all is with Sophia. Welcome to life, Tate. Brady suggests Tate talk to a therapist and, shockingly, the teen says he might use Salem U’s counselors instead of Marlena.

Sarah won’t let Holly run off without talking about what happened, but she just pushed her niece into a near-meltdown when she tells her about Amy’s cyberbullying claims. Sarah and Grandma have Holly’s back, but she better have learnt a lesson about what she puts on the internet!
Are Ari and Liam a Go?
Ari pays Liam a visit to tell him he doesn’t get to decide if he’s good for her or not. She’s dug into his past and it’s green flags all around for her! Her family’s pretty screwed up too, after all. Also, she’s very turned on by bad boys and his shady past is seriously getting her going.

Liam tries the Gabi angle, but Ari just laughs in his face. “My mom’s a felon.” She’s got no leg to stand on. That’s about when Liam crumbles Ari teases him into a kiss. You know, to test the waters.
Will Gabi Save Titan?
Gabi gets home and fills Philip in on the will reading: Lexie’s alive! But he needs to keep it quiet until the DiMeras give the OK. Don’t wanna mess up getting her share of the fortune! Whenever that may or may not happen. Luckily, Philip has an ace up his sleeve to help tip things in her favor: Samples of Vivian’s handwriting to prove she forged the papers!

She’s beyond touched and promises that whatever she inherits, she’s sharing it with him after all he’s done. But Philip won’t have it. It’s not like she owes him anything! (Besides Titan’s survival.) She insists it would make her happy after all the happiness he’s given her. “What’s mine is yours.”
What Was Stefano’s Message?
Belle gets home to get an earful from Marlena about Stefano’s will reading and the chess set — which is still at the mansion. As Marlena says, “I don’t want anything from that man in my house.” (What about… anyone??) As Belle points out, there must have been a message in the set, but Marlena’s not curious.

More: Yes, that is the same Harold!
But enough about that — they close the book on Stefano (they should be so lucky) and talk about Belle’s day and Amy’s attempt to bring a cyberbullying lawsuit against Holly for Sophia’s death. Belle thinks she should recuse herself after what happened with Rachel, and Marlena agrees. (Same.)
In the Show’s Final Moments
Philip promises Gabi she’ll never have to find out what she’ll do without him. She’s stuck with him. Ari and Liam stop flirting and lock lips. And tongues. Those two go at it.
Marlena imparts some wisdom from John: “Always do the right thing. And if it doesn’t feel easy, that means it’s the right thing.”
Tate wants to talk to Mrs. Choi and get her to back off, but Brady puts a stop to that. Holly tries storming out on Sarah, feeling insulted, but Sarah goes full mom mode. “Holly, sit down!” She loves and supports Holly, but that doesn’t mean telling her what she want to hear and — Holly storms out anyway. Sigh.
