Kai gets to Dante’s office to find the commish, Nathan and ADA Turner waiting. They sit him down to ask if Michael could have had keys to Drew’s. No, Kai says, absolutely not. He shuts this down, leaves, and the three law enforcement agents are stumped.
Has Willow Failed?
It looks like Harrison Chase planted that key, but Dante believes Chase’s denial. Either way, they’ve hit too many dead ends. The investigation, Justine says, is a cold case! Well, that was easy. Dante, shockingly (or not), agrees with her. And those two in, Nathan goes along.

Turner believes they went after the right person, but Willow got off free, so there’s nothing to do. (She’s right, but Willow’s committed enough new crimes, they’ll get their chance again!)
Kristina Shows Off Charlie’s
Kristina, Jacinda and Michael check out Charlie’s, all fixed up. Then Sonny walks in with a big grin. It looks brand new! Then talk moves to the Congresswoman Willow Cain news. Kristina’s shocked and angry, and they’re all baffled about why Laura changed her mind.

Sonny just looks around and plays dumb. He doesn’t agree with Laura, but respects her opinion. Kristina’s furious, but Sonny tells her they need to cool down. Michael will never be prosecuted — Sonny will handle it. And as Jacinda’s suggesting that maybe Willow finally standing on her own two feet could “surprise us all,” Dante calls Michael in.
Tracy Warns Brook Lynn
Tracy and Brook Lynn have a spot of tea to catch up — and for Tracy to tell her granddaughter to get Chase to drop his vendetta against Michael. Asking Michael to leave isn’t an option, but she hints that asking Chase could be! Brook Lynn is supporting Chase, and insists he didn’t plant the key.

But she did give her husband an ultimatum — adoption or investigation. Chase chose her, so take that, granny. Spoiler alert: Tracy doesn’t. She still has her doubts. Willow is a professional victim.
Ned Grills Chase
Chase greets Ned when he gets home, only to get grilled on how his priorities seem a bit… off. They’re more with his ex than his wife. Despite Chase’s claims that Brook Lynn’s fine with this, Ned doesn’t want her torn between him and her family. He’s not prioritizing his wife and his marriage.

Ned spins this as wanting to keep Chase from making the same mistakes he has in life. Chase apologizes if he ever made the Quartermaines doubt his devotion to Brook Lynn. He’ll make it right.
Laura Has High Hopes for Willow
Willow poses for some press photos with a paralyzed Drew and it’s utterly ghoulish. Laura drops in just in time to be thrown in the photo with them, then asks point blank if Willow will work for the people or be a total Drew and just be vengeful. Willow claims she’ll serve the constituents, which makes Laura happy.

Anyway, Laura wishes Drew a speedy recovery and all, just before Ezra Boyle — temporarily played by Patrick Scott Lewis — stops in next, followed right by Kai. Laura pulls Ezra out in the hall to tell it’s too obvious right now for Sidwell to start pulling strings. Let things cool down, first!
Ezra just threatens Willow and Laura and makes it clear the strings are being pulled. He tries playing it off like he is worried about them, though, and he’s just in over his head with Sidwell. What a swell guy.
Inside, Kai fills Willow in on the PCPD meeting and offers to help her hire new interns. Willow, though, wants him to stay on staff. Once he leaves, Laura and Ezra offer competing visions of Willow working with Sidwell. Laura encourages Willow not to.
Trina Gets a Double Whammy of Bad News
Trina gets home to find Portia and Curtis waiting to say goodbye to the home together. Trina’s stunned, so they gently walk her through how the whole divorce thing works — you know, splitting assets and all. Then they all hug as a family, insisting they’ll always be there for Trina.

Lucy shows up in a whirlwind before Trina can even catch her breath, and Curtis shows her around to check out the updates. Trina’s just heartbroken, but Portia talks through memories with her, promising that house or no house, the memories they built won’t fade. Lucy and Curtis get back down and Trina runs out. But then, Portia signs the paperwork — and Curtis just can’t do it!
Outside, Trina meets Kai who fills her in on everything — including Willow asking him to stay one. Despite Trina’s horror, Kai insists he needs to keep an eye on Drew and keep him safe.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Brook Lynn and Chase head out for a surprise date night. The second they’re gone, Tracy disabuses Ned of any notion that Chase listened to him. Willow’s a manipulative monster.
Kristina and Jacinda head out, so Sonny calls Justine down to meet him. She tells him the shooting investigation is shelved, Michael’s fine, so he can stop pretending to be interested in her. “I’m not pretending.”
Laura and Ezra leave Willow to think things over. He warns the mayor that she’s making everything worse. Inside, Willow tells Drew that her plan isn’t working. But now she has this position, which she’s decided is even better than her plan.
Dante, meanwhile, tells Michael that the investigation is being dropped — but there’s no path to clear his name. He’ll always be under suspicion. And outside, Brook Lynn and Chase kiss and get all romantic. Then she turns and — “Oh my God!” She gasps!
