Say What Now? While Steve Burton’s Off, General Hospital Introduces a New Jason
Kids… they grow up so fast. And what General Hospital moppet Danny seems to have grown up to be is a chip off the old block, a junior-varsity version of his father, Jason.
Danny Wants to Get ‘Mobbed’
In the April 6 episode (recapped here), Danny approached Sonny, aka the sainted godfather of Port Charles, and announced that he wanted to join the Mob. (Guess the teen figured with his connections, he didn’t have to fill out the application form online like every other would-be hitman.)

Of course, Sonny understood why Danny would want to avenge Jason’s wrongful arrest by taking down the WSB. But the don reminded his visitor that Jason adhered to more of a “Do as I say, not as I do” m.o. as a parent than a “Follow my lead” one. (Sam had to be rolling in her grave as her son was flirting with disaster like this.)
Danny’s Ready and Has an Aim, But Will He Fire?
Though Sonny shot down Danny — thankfully not the same way he once did Cates — the boy remains hell-bent on payback. And since he now knows that Sidwell was behind Jason’s arrest, the power monger has become the new focus of Danny’s rage. Will he act on impulse and do something that he’ll regret?

Almost certainly. Wouldn’t Jason have done the same thing in his shoes, especially back when Stone Cold was just beginning his career as a mafioso with ice in his veins? Fingers crossed at least that the “new Jason” gets shot less often than the old one!
