At the ranch, Chelsea keeps prodding Adam to admit he wants to go back to Riza and his old life as a gambler. He repeats that his future is with her and their son. She can’t shake the idea that he’s hooked on the adrenaline.

As he tries talking her out of that, Victor strolls in with Christine, telling her they need to put Cane and Phyllis behind bars. She insists that this must be handled by the book. She will treat this as she does any other case, particularly given the history of animosity between all the people involved.

Once Christine exits, Adam says it sounds like this could be drawn out for a long time. His father doesn’t seem to care. He’ll enjoy watching Phyllis unravel. Chelsea doesn’t believe that Cane and Phyllis would be stupid enough to leave a trail of evidence. Did they fabricate it? Victor and Adam insist it doesn’t matter. Chelsea worries they could be doing something illegal that they can’t come back from.

Screwed?

At the Club, Phyllis is fuming to Lauren about Victor and wondering about using his long rap sheet against him when Michael arrives and explains that he had all the evidence reviewed by experts. According to them, it’s all legitimate. Phyllis assumes she’s screwed and suggests they get another expert. Michael explains that if this goes to court and they prove it is all AI, Christine will be able to use that against her to prove she stole the company by the same means.

They go around in circles about how she can’t expose Victor without exposing herself. Phyllis isn’t impressed by all of Michael’s assurances that he’s on her side. When she gives him a week to come up with a winning strategy, he reminds her that he’s the only lawyer crazy enough to take her case.

They continue to bicker. Lauren wonders if they should cut a deal. Phyllis won’t hear of it, and Michael admits it’s likely too late. When Phyllis sees Cricket enter, she bolts across the room, accuses her of being corrupt, and threatens to tell the media that she’s in Victor’s back pocket.

Confusing Update

At home, Sharon calls Mariah, who is sounding hopeful again. She disconnects as Noah and Nick arrive. Sienna joins them and the men explain that they saw Matt and he’s alive. Sienna wishes she’d finished him off. They’re all confused about him wandering around in public. Noah relays that Matt was not acting like himself and claimed he didn’t know who he was. Sienna wonders if that could be due to the head trauma causing amnesia. Nick, agitated, leaves for a walk.

They continue to ponder whether Matt is faking. None of this is making a lot of sense. Noah wishes he’d grabbed Matt when he had the chance. His mom assures him that Nick and Victor’s men will handle this. As Noah angrily recaps what happened, Sienna asks what he was doing with Audra in the first place.

Nick, meanwhile, shows up at the ranch and announces that Matt’s in town and has already gotten into it with Noah. He tells them about the apparent amnesia. None of this is making sense to anyone. Nick doesn’t care what’s actually happening; he just wants to take Matt down.

The Final Scenes

At the Club, Lauren and Michael step up to the bar to stop things from escalating further between Phyllis and Cricket. When Phyllis threatens to tell Spectra-Charles how corrupt Christine is, the D.A. warns her that she will sue her for defamation and leave her in jail and broke.

Back at Sharon’s, Sienna wonders why Audra was with Noah in the first place. Sharon interrupts to say it was good that she was there to stop things from going too far. Noah walks off to call Audra to see if she can remember any more details.

Nick and Adam go to the cafe in Chancellor Park to search for clues. Adam can see that his brother is on edge. Nick claims it’s just because he hasn’t eaten. Adam goes inside to grab him a sandwich. Nick finds a baggie in his pocket and eyes up the pill inside.
