EJ and Cat are just about to catch up when Rafe pops in. The bones have been identified and they’re undeniably Stefano’s remains. EJ’s a bit stunned (“He was the Phoenix…” Yes, EJ, he was.), as Kristen comes waltzing in to get the news. She just breaks into hysterics as she realizes she killed Peter with their dad’s femur. Only in this family…

No matter what he did, she still loved Stefano — or she did. Not now. She detests him and EJ. Kristen walks out and EJ wastes no time accusing Rafe of being the last one to see Stefano alive, what with that Hope killing him thing. Allegedly. Then EJ goes and leaves Cat and Rafe. Alone. In his living room.

News of Stefano’s Death Spreads

Theo’s smiling away in his sleep as Chad shows up to wake him. He could be discharged any day now! (Let’s hope! It’s been over a month at this point…) EJ calls Chad to tell him the news about the bones, but Stefano’s youngest doesn’t pass the news on to Theo.

Cat and Rafe try figuring out EJ’s reaction, while being blatantly obvious about working together. Fortunately, no one comes in until they’re about to leave and Chad shows up and Kristen gets back downstairs with her bags. Chad walks Cat out, since he’s allowed to accidentally run into her now.

Outside, he tells her that he gets to keep his kids — so long as he and Cat never get back together. And alone back inside, Rafe asks if Kristen knows where Dr. Rolf is. She doesn’t. Kristen asks Rafe about her offer, but he just looks at her. The suspense!

Johnny Asks Theo for Advice

Johnny and Chanel are also at the hospital, giving Paulina the good news from their checkup — the baby’s healthy and so is she! The risk of her cancer recurring is low. Johnny heads over to Theo and Chanel’s over the moon that he’s finally coming around.

Johnny brings Sweet Bits treats to sweeten Theo up and pick his brain about Bonnie’s book. If their editors like it, go for it, Theo says. That settled, Johnny leaves, telling him not to rush his recovery.

Out at the nurses’ station, Chanel goes off about Kristen still being free, but Paulina just promises justice will be served.

EJ Demands Answers from Rolf

Rolf’s hard at work when EJ drops in, demanding to know what the hell he did with Stefano. “Oh, thank God!” He was worried Peter had gotten rid of them. Stefano didn’t die when everyone thought. He just retreated to a private island while he sent Rolf out to find a way to keep him alive. Rolf was gone for six months and when he returned… Stefano was dead for real.

But Rolf doesn’t know how he got from the sarcophagus where he put them to under the crypt.

Abe’s Proud of Liam

Abe joins Liam for his tutoring session, then starts talking about Gage. His mom OD’d, and he’s been slowly getting better. He wants to pay Abe back for lending him money for food, and Abe just says he already has by showing up and being a good dad.

But Abe spots his hand and knows it was more than a wound cutting food. Liam promises he’s done enough and he’ll be fine.

In the Show’s Final Moments

Cat calls Andrew with the news that she found the money trail leading to who Peter hired to do his dirty work. It’s Liam Selejko! Abe, meanwhile, is telling Liam that he sees good things in his future. That’s when Paulina calls and gives the phone to Theo. He’s being released from the hospital today.

Johnny gets back to the office, where Chad finds him to share the news that EJ’s back, Sydney’s doing better and Stefano’s bones were in the crypt. Just another day in the life of a DiMera. They’re both a bit unsure of how to feel, but Johnny insists they have to give him a better end.
