It’s a Race Against Time to See If Stephanie and Jeremy’s Saviors or Killers Will Reach Them First
Today on Days of Our Lives, Dr. Rolf finds the captives, Steve and Rafe catch a break and Cat and Kayla leap into action.

EJ breathes a visible sigh of relief when Paulina says that no matter how devastated she’d be to lose Abe to Lexie, she couldn’t live with herself if she denied him the reunion. EJ then asks her to keep quiet and not get Abe and Theo’s hopes up if this fails. Of course!
She’s not thrilled to be forced to work with him again, but: “Why Lexie?” She was wonderful and bringing her back was the one thing Stefano wanted before he died. Paulina warns him that this could go horribly wrong. (And we agree.)
Will Paulina Crack?
Paulina gets home, pulls out the Bible and hugs it. She talks herself through the guilty part of her hoping this doesn’t work. She can’t lose Abe. As she’s sobbing, Theo walks in from the back, already home.

“You seem upset,” he notes. (Ya think? She’s wiping tears away.) Paulina just says some tough work decisions are wearing on her. Theo assures her that if she needs help for anything, he and his dad are there for her, but she always makes the best decision for others. (Just heaping on the pain there, Theo.)
Will Owen Kill Stephanie?
Stephanie calls 911 and starts screaming for help until Owen yanks the phone from her hand. (What was the plan here?) Steph tries claiming she just panicked and made a mistake, but come on, there’s only so far even a lunatic like Owen can be duped.
Owen seems ready to kill them both, but Jeremy tries talking him out of hurting Stephanie. But it’s over. She’ll never love him back. Ah, breakups.
Will Dr. Rolf Save Jeremy and Stephanie?
Dr. Rolf checks in on Lexie, waxing on about how thrilled Stefano would be to have his final wish fulfilled. Cue mad doctor laughing, followed by annoyance with Owen when he comes back in, all mopey because nothing matters anymore.
Stephanie starts giving in to despair, so Jeremy bucks her up and says he’ll get out of the cuffs, with a little help from her dislocating his thumb. Ouch. In fact, there’s so much ouch, Jeremy lets out a bellow of pain heard by Dr. Rolf!

As they struggle to get out, Rolf peeks his head in the door, shocked. His German comes bursting out full force — “Gott im himmel!” — when Stephanie explains Owen’s behind this. But Rolf’s not too keen on the idea of cops. Think, Rolf, thin— never mind. He re-gags them and leaves.
Can Kayla and Cat Save Stephanie?
Jada calls Steve to tell him a 911 call came in that they’re sure is Stephanie. He lets Kayla know and she sends Steve off: “You go find her!”
Rafe and Cat can’t find much on Owen after his disappearance, so she heads to work. Steve rushes in after and tells Rafe about the call and that they need the full FBI force behind the search! You’ve got your orders, Rafe! From a man who has nothing to do with the FBI, but… Go!

It doesn’t take long for the FBI to tell Rafe they pinged the cellphone tower that routed the call and it was within the hospital radius! They’ll start combing the area again, and Steve calls Kayla and tells her to get them inside the lab. But she doesn’t know how, so Rafe has Steve tell Kayla to ask Cat. This is quite the game of telephone. Literally, since Steve’s on the phone.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Rolf rushes into the lab and texts EJ an SOS, only for the two to pop up out of the secret DiMera passageway. EJ’s furious with Rolf for hiring Owen… and the doc has to see to it that the prisoners will never be found again.
Abe gets home to tell Paulina and Theo that the cops think Stephanie’s in or near the hospital. Paulina looks all uncomfortable. On account of Lexie, in case you were wondering.
Steve doesn’t get why Rafe thinks Cat can help, so the agent makes up some BS about Cat being where Steve is. Kayla rushes over to Cat and tells her Rafe said to help her. Now! Move! Cat vows to give the code her best shot. It takes her a full two tries to get it open, and they text the fellas in. Jeremy screams, then holds up his hand, free of the handcuff.
