The worst has come to pass on General Hospital. Lucas’ love and Sidwell’s son, Marco, is dead. Liz and Isaiah couldn’t save him after Cullum’s brutal, bloody stabbing. And Alexis just didn’t make it to him in time. Despite everyone’s attempts to save Marco’s life, he paid the ultimate price for doing the right thing, swiping Britt’s meds (which Cullum destroyed anyway) and doing everything he could to redeem himself.

Adrian Anchondo, who joined the show a year ago in March of 2025 as Blaze’s brother, said farewell in an Instagram post after we learned Marco’s tragic fate. “I started this journey with a story about my mother,” he wrote, “how she was with me in spirit at my screen test for Marco, hiding in the compact she used to do her make up in while she watched soap operas on the couch.”

And while he’s had his grandma and cousins all cheering him on, he knows that now, after all is said and done, his mom is still “looking down and proud of me for all the work I’ve done in the past year on one of the best shows ever created. She is proud of me for showing up every day and leading with kindness and respect, for fighting through my insecurities and anxiety, and for letting my heart shine through a character that had questionable intentions.”
“I’m also proud of myself for doing the work,” Anchondo continued, “for representing the LGBTQI and Latino community, and for constantly recognizing the magic that every single person on the show creates.”
“I know fans are sad (believe me I’m still grieving),” he comforted folks, “but I’m just one small piece in a much bigger picture. This isn’t about me, it’s about what’s best for the story. I can’t believe the amount of love I’ve received, especially in the last few days. I hope I made you proud. To my queer fans, don’t be discouraged, we will keep spreading our love and fighting for that happy ending.”
He went on to that casting director Mark Teschner, executive producer Frank Valentini, General Hospital and its directors and boyfriend Colton Little (Andrew, Days of Our Lives) “for being by my side, running lines. hyping me up, and holding me through the sad parts.”

“Thank you to the amazing cast,” he shared, “especially Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) for your wisdom and kindness, Carlo Rota (Sidwell) for your support, guidance and friendship, and of course to my amazing friend Van Hansis (Lucas) for holding my hand in more ways than one. You made it easy to fall in love with you.
As for what Marco leaves behind, we can only imagine the devastation Lucas is going to feel when he realizes how hard he’s fought to save the life of Marco’s murderer. He already said he blames himself for putting Marco in danger.
And Sidwell? He’s already blaming Sonny, and we can only imagine what he’ll do next. Even we felt for the villain as he broke down over his son’s body.
Now, though, it’s time to mourn and say farewell to Marco and give Anchondo a round of applause for one incredible run and unforgettable exit. “That’s a wrap on Marco!” Anchondo finished in his Instagram post. “I hope everyone loved him as much as I did. We went out with a bang. On to the next big thing.”
