JJ in the hospital as Gabi and Theo laugh things up. Eventually, he works up the nerve to step into the room with some Pub burgers. Gabi’s perfectly pleasant and gracious as she sees herself out for her date with Philip.

Can Theo and JJ Be Friends Again?

Theo can’t help but notice JJ’s reaction to hearing where Gabi’s going, but JJ shrugs it off. He’s just glad Theo’s awake. (He has been for weeks, JJ.) The two apologize to each other for the PD kerfuffle and JJ talks about his very important non-bias training emphasizing de-escalation and only using a gun as a last resort as if he’s learning this amazing idea for the first time. Which is super worrying for the Salem PD…

Theo’s happy, but he wants to be sure JJ’s prepared for a high risk situation. He’ll do everything he can. The two make nice and get back to Gabi. Theo is all mysterious about how he doesn’t think Gabi and Philip will last. But he keeps his mouth shut about why, much to JJ’s confusion.

Is Jeremy Really Leaving?

Julie gets home in a tizzy, on the phone with Marlena to apologize for her joke, but Marlena tells her it’s no big deal. Then Jeremy tells her that Thomas wasn’t happy about the details of the plan worked out in mediation. Hopefully this won’t mess up the deal. (Seriously.)

Jeremy will try to talk to Thomas before he leaves Salem. For good. But he thinks the kid will work through it and stay here. Julie then worries over whether Jeremy’s leaving because of Stephanie’s engagement. But Jeremy demures. He’d hoped to make amends, but has to respect her boundaries.

Will Stephanie and Alex Catch the Stalker?

Jada and Stephanie are faking some wedding shopping to lure the creeper out. Stephanie’s shocked that there are plain clothes officers following them — that Alex is paying for. She’s starting to regret writing One Stormy Night. She’s terrified playing the bait, but she wants to end this for Alex and her dad.

Alex, meanwhile, barges into Philip’s office — his desk is back in front of Xander’s, this must be exhausting for the poor staff who have to move it in and out — furious over Brady’s firing. But then Philip notices Steve lurking in the hall, and they explain the bodyguard/stalker threats thing.

Philip pushes them to tell their secret plan. Alex gives the nod, and Steve says they’re luring the stalker into a trap, what with the engagement announcement and shopping and all.

Who’s After Stephanie?

Alex and Philip head to the Pub to bond. Guess that Brady thing wasn’t that big a deal after all. They ponder who could be behind this, then Hope texts Steve with another website full of creepy pictures. It looks like it’s the guy’s own personal website. That he paid for. (Is that a thing? Are there stalker websites out there that we just never know about?)

Stephanie and Jada join them and Steve fills Jada in on the website. She promises to take it from there. So… who owns it?

Has Gabi Really Moved On?

Philip and Gabi are strolling through the park at night, where they see a makeshift “advertising campaign” for Saxton’s, with bean bag toss. That’s… weird. There’s a homemade posterboard on a wooden easel. But they toss a few bags, then talk about the “Is Stefan alive or not” thing.

Gabi insists that it doesn’t matter, even if he’s alive, she doesn’t want him back. “I’m sorry that I keep going on and on about my probably-dead-ex.” Not a sentence you hear every day. Outside of Salem. But she’d choose Philip over Stefan no matter what.

In the Show’s Final Moments

Steve tells Alex and Stephanie that Jada’s off bringing a suspect in. Then we cut to the Horton house, where Jada’s knocking on the front door. She asks Jeremy to come down to the station. He can do this the easy way or the hard way, it’s his choice. The stalker evidence points right to him.
