Congratulations to the new bride and groom! Days of Our Lives’ soon-to-be Chad, Conner Floyd, tied the knot with fiancée Carly Frei over the weekend on March 21st — which is exactly one month before his first airdate in Salem on April 21st. And if there’s a better way to start a countdown than a wedding, we don’t know what it is! (We know, we know; it was more than likely a coincidence over anything else, but it’s still fun.)

The couple made a glamorous weekend out of it, they shared with People, for a Los Angeles wedding that was a love-letter to an “old-school, Old Hollywood” affair. And we’re sure it would have fit right in back in the era of big, bold, glamorous soap opera weddings, too! They kicked off the weekend with a party Friday night before exchanging vows in a “fairytale” ceremony on Saturday.

And it doesn’t get more soapy than their love story, which began when they met on Valentine’s Day of 2020 — just before the pandemic. That, as you can imagine, didn’t go anywhere until they randomly ran into each other a year later. And it’s been love ever since.

“The past five years that we have been together have truly been the best five years of our lives,” Floyd told People, “and to think that we get to spend a lifetime together from this moment on just makes both of us so excited for what the future has to offer.”

And now? Honeymoon in Bora Bora! But don’t worry, it won’t affect Chad or Floyd’s Days of Our Lives schedule at all, since the show filmed all of the upcoming material the better part of a year ago. And who knows where things will be in Salem by the time Chad returns.
