Days of Our Lives’ Alison Sweeney Shares a Heartfelt Story While Accepting a Very Special Award
Over last weekend, the Helen Woodward Animal Center presented the soap fave with the 2026 Humane Award. “A true animal lover, who continuously finds ways to help rescue more pets. We’ve personally had the honor to work with her through remember me Thursday as she has joined us to spread awareness on pet adoption for a few years now,” the organization shared on their official Instagram while posting a video from the ceremony. “Alison, you deserve this award. We hope to continue to work with you many more times in the future and we appreciate everything you do for all those pets who don’t have a voice to save themselves.”

Sweeney was clearly very honored as she accepted the award and shared a very special story about how her and her husband Dave Sanov, who she’s been married to since 2000, have been rescuing animals, particularly dogs, their entire marriage. While helping their kids, Ben and Megan, become animal lovers too, the couple works with Pilots N Paws. “My husband is a pilot and he takes the dogs all across the country, actually.” she shared then went on to state that along the way they’ve wanted to keep so many of them.
We commend Sweeney for the difference she and her husband make and encourage everyone to “pay it forward” in life… You won’t regret it.
