Muldoon’s sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, shared with TMZ that her brother had been drinking coffee with his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart, in their Beverly Hills home on Sunday morning. However, after he went to take a shower, and had been gone too long, Rothbart went to check on him and found Muldoon unconscious on the bathroom floor. Paramedics arrived soon but no matter how many times they tried to revive him, it had been too late.
Muldoon landed one of his first roles in 1990 on the hit series Who’s the Boss before originating Austin on Days of Our Lives in 1992 — a role he held on and off until 2012. In 1995, the actor joined the cast of the primetime soap Melrose Place as Richard Hart then landed a lead role in the 1997 film Starship Troopers. With over 90 credits to his name, the former soap fave turned up on numerous films and primetime shows and will never be forgotten by daytime fans for his Salem role.
