As General Hospital’s Lucas Plots Revenge for Marco, Adrian Anchondo Laments a Major Dropped Plot — Plus, *Another* Kid for Sonny??
There are no two ways about it: General Hospital‘s Lucas is out for blood. Now that his beloved Marco is dead and buried, the doc is determined to take down not just Cullum, but Sidwell, too. But he’ll have to get in line, because there’s a long list of people who are gunning for the two villains. There’s Sonny and Ric, likely Laura and Ezra, Dante and the PCPD, Brennan… In fact, it might just be a race to see who can get to them first! And in another world, one of the people taking them down may have just been Sidwell’s own son.
When Adrian Anchondo spoke with Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradfor Anderson (Spinelli) for their THAT’S AWESOME With Steve And Bradford podcast he reminded us all — speaking as Marco — that “my dad was the one who started the fire that made me save Kristina and made me lose my mother and I never found that out.”
And finding that out could have changed everything! Anchondo expanded on how over on his Instagram stories when a fan asked what he’d have liked to see play out if Marco had survived. And it sounds like if that would have happened, we might be seeing Marco take his father down instead of Lucas!
“I’ve thought about this a lot,” Anchondo mused. “I was hoping there would come a moment where Marco finally, let’s just say, holds Sonny at gunpoint or something, and he’s about to get his revenge and Sonny tells him about the truth of Charlie’s pub and how my father set the fire, and that’s the reason why I missed saving my mom.”
After that, “we would see the explosion between Marco and Sidwell.” And on a happier note, Anchondo “would have loved to see Lucas and Marco move in together and have little cute remodeling moments and eventually get married. Of course, it has to be a dramatic wedding, and have a kid — it would have been really nice.”
But it wasn’t meant to be. Nor was one particular plot point that got some traction online. Back on the podcast, Anchondo joked to Burton and Anderson that “there were also the online rumors for a while that I was actually Sonny’s kid, because I guess maybe [Sonny and Natalia] had a relationship.”
“He can always use another one,” Anderson deadpanned. “So many kids.”
“I know,” Anchondo laughed. “I wish I looked more like Rory [Gibson, Michael]!”
Now that would have been a twist! And hey, there’s no reason it couldn’t have gone hand in hand with the other one! If that was the case, then Marco would have had an even bigger reason to want to destroy Sidwell. Still, Sonny’s got his hands more than full with his kids already.
