Theo breaks the news to Gabi in the Pub that he’s leaving DiMera. She doesn’t understand why, and he won’t tell her, but just lets him know she’s there to talk if he needs it. She also assures him that she’s not going to default to working with Titan just because of her and Philip living together.

What? Living together?? With Gabi’s secret hanging over them?! Theo’s shocked, but Gabi insists she’s unbothered, and asks Theo and Jada to join her and Philip for another Trivia Night.

Stephanie Gives Philip the (Not New) News

Stephanie tries to give the advance check for her book back to Philip, because she’s never, ever writing the book. Philip reassures her that they bought some time, so Stephanie tries again. “I’m not going to write anymore. I need you to release me from my contract.”

Philip finally gets it. He completely understands and almost mimics exactly what she said to Alex about digging into another person’s love story. That’s when Stephanie realizes Alex already told him she was planning this (in her words, no less) and he went behind her back with Philip and he was just pretending confusion.

Marlena Helps Leo

Leo calls Marlena in a panic and rushes to her office (She’s conveniently free now!) to tell her what happened with Dimitri. He knows now that he wants to be with Javi, but it’s good that he’s gone, because Leo would just end up hurting him again. Dimitri told him so.

“Was he twisting his mustache when he said it??” Marlena reassures Leo that he’s not who he used to be with Dimitri, and maybe it’s time to call Javi and tell him how he feels. Like right now. While she watches. OK, Marlena.

Chanel Wants Answers

Chanel and Alex catch up outside the Pub, where he gets the uncomfortable news that Chanel encouraged Stephanie to be honest with her husband — which she hasn’t done. He pushes Chanel until she shares what Alex’s wife confessed. He’s completely stunned to learn she’s struggling! (Oblivious. Utterly oblivious.)

She eventually heads into the Pub and takes over from Gabi to find out why Theo dumped DiMera on her husband. Does this have anything to do with EJ? (Got it in one!) Theo won’t bite, though, and insists he left because it was right for him, so Chanel sighs and leaves him to it. But she’s there to talk if he needs it!

Javi’s Back!

Javi sits dow with Rafe to fill him in that… he’s coming back to work full time! Javi’s returning! (Even if Al Calderon isn’t.) Rafe fills him in on Leo’s latest happenings, saying he’s back in town. He even tries telling Javi that Leo’s been depressed and struggling to choose between him and Dimitri.

Either way, Javi’s decided that since Leo’s moved on, he can do the same. Gabi spots the two as she leaves the Pub and rushes over to squeeze Javi in a hug. That’s about when Leo tries calling and Javi ignores it, telling Rafe that he will confront him when he’s ready.

In the Show’s Final Moments

Marlena insists that they don’t know why Javi didn’t answer, but they’ll talk when the time is right. No matter what, Leo’s being true to himself.

Gabi heads over to Philip at Titan and has to ruin his romantic date night idea with the news that they’ll be meeting with Theo and Jada for Trivia Night tonight. (Even though Jada doesn’t know this yet and neither she nor Theo are that invested anymore, but hey!) Theo, meanwhile, calls to make an appointment with Marlena.

Alex is pacing by the time Stephanie gets home to lay into him about “orchestrating the whole thing” with Philip and Kate. She’s a grown woman who can handle her own business without him coddling her. “And when I needed your protection? When I desperately needed your protection when it actually mattered?” Oh boy. Stephanie tries walking that back, but she’s just so frustrated with him and he’s frustrated because he has to find out from “people” to find out how she’s feeling. And in no time, Stephanie’s storming out to get some air.
