Days of our Lives August Spoilers: EJ DiMera, Gabi Hernandez, and More

On Monday, August 18th, we’ve got Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) on the receiving end of a freakout from his brother EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), who is worried about Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) wrongfully going to prison. EJ knows a woman shot him, but he doesn’t know who.

Time is just about up. I wonder if the stress of all this will finally trigger EJ to remember who put the bullet in him. Or maybe Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will tell him her suspicions, and that will trigger something—no pun intended. Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) needs to help Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols).

He wants to talk to her about Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein). Also this week, Little Sweetness confronts her daddy Patch, about investigating Titan and digging into her boyfriend Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson). Plus, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) gets an apology from Gabi, and it may be about the kiss that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) saw. That kiss prompted her to kiss Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Xander to try and attack him. I do wonder if Gabi is even sincere since she is fully plotting against Xander and Titan.

Stephanie Johnson, Alex Kiriakis, and the Titan Turmoil

Alex surprises Stephanie, and I wonder if it’s about Steve and the criminal charges he’s dug out of his past. Then again, it could be about her book, One Stormy Night. Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) tries to convince Johnny to focus on proving his innocence on Monday and not to worry about her or the deepfake video. Can Chanel ease his mind so Johnny can get his head on straight? He has fired his dad, EJ as his lawyer, which is going to make everything so much messier.

On Tuesday, August 19th, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Marlena are discussing the challenging issues facing their families right now. They are at the little bookstore that’s for sale. Julie tells the owner that she knows someone who may be interested in buying the shop. I wonder if Julie will buy the shop or suggest that Marlena does. We’ll see how that goes.

DOOL Trial Chaos: Johnny DiMera, Chanel Dupree & Belle Black

Tony tells Gabi that if she brings down Titan, Xander, and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier), she will be the CEO of DiMera Enterprises. Tony DiMera is so confident they even signed paperwork to seal that deal. Meanwhile, Belle Black (Martha Madison) cross-examines Chanel on Tuesday. I wonder if Belle will ask her about the deepfake stuff and if they can draw that out. The thing is, if they can make Chanel look less like the shooter, that’s much worse on Johnny. The testing to prove it is a deepfake may take too much time.

Johnny says EJ crossed a line, and that’s why he removed him from the case. Belle Black tells her mama Marlena the same thing. So, it looks like Johnny is representing himself, which is never a good idea. You may have heard that famous quote: when a lawyer represents themselves in court, he has a fool for a client. But to be fair, the trial is almost over, but still.

Rachel Black Revealed: The Shocking Shooter Twist on DOOL

On Tuesday, the person that shot EJ is finally revealed. Our leaker said it’s Rachel Black (Alice Halsey). That’s what we heard, and that’s what I believe. Everything is pointing to that. Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) continue to get closer, and I wonder if she will have to scramble to keep her ISA job a secret from Chad. On Wednesday, August 20th, Gabi gets an update from Steve on the investigation.

I wonder what he’s going to tell her about Titan, Xander, and Philip and if he has some good stuff to help her break the brothers wider apart. Things are shifting soon. Alex wants to hire Stephanie to do PR, and it may be at Titan. He may be worried about what’s coming. Alex talks to Xander about something dodgy, maybe being in those papers he gave him.

Marlena Evans and Kristen DiMera Face the Aftermath

Also, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) must face the truth, and it looks like it’s about Rachel being EJ shooter. Marlena and EJ talk about next steps. Obviously, he can’t believe how many lives he has personally altered during this trial. He may need some guidance from Marlena. She said she didn’t want to help him with hypnosis, but Belle really thinks Marlena knows who shot him.

This is the day after the reveal, so several people are going to find out. EJ and Marlena may be planning to figure out how to save Johnny and Rachel. EJ doesn’t wish Rachel any ill will, even though she shot him. Johnny has to be his priority. Philip and Belle share a moment on Wednesday. He tells her she deserves better than EJ, I’m assuming. But is Philip really better? To some extent, yes, but he’s also pretty shady too.

Brady Black, Tate Black, and Secret Salem Adoptions

On Thursday, August 21st, Brady is comforting his son, Tate Black (Leo Howard). This whole thing with the baby’s secret adoption and never getting to see his child has him all messed up. Of course, Brady wants to help. Marlena distracts Rachel while Kristen goes to beg EJ for more time. The bottom line is EJ can’t wait. There is no more time.

The verdict is coming in any minute now, and he can’t let Johnny go down for a crime he didn’t do. Sarah is pushing Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) to tell the truth about Tesoro but Sophia may not see a point in doing that right now. She’s jealous, she’s confused. Her feelings are hurt. It’s all hard.

Johnny DiMera’s Verdict and Leo Stark’s Role

The jury is deliberating. Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) is the foreperson of the jury, and the verdict for or against Johnny is in. On Friday, August 22nd, EJ is ready to announce the truth about the shooter in court before the verdict is handed in. But things are really complicated. Kristen asked Marlena a favor.

And it may be about taking care of Rachel while she’s gone. Sarah gets the third degree from Brady. I wonder if it’s about Tate, Sophia, or Rachel. We’ll see if she buckles and tells Brady what she knows. The trial takes a crazy turn. On Friday, cliffhanger moments happen.

Kristen bursts into the courtroom and makes a disturbance just as Leo is about to read the verdict. If Johnny was going to be found innocent, then Kristen’s sacrifice wasn’t needed. But it looks like it’s too late. She’s going to confess she’s headed to Statesville, likely to protect her daughter.

Upcoming DOOL Twists: Tate Black, Jack Deveraux, and Stefano’s Legacy

The week of August 25th through the 29th, Tate may finally learn the truth about Tesoro. We’ll see. If he finds out what went down, I think Tate may actually want full custody of his son. The fact is the child hasn’t been adopted. He’s in foster care right there in Salem. EJ may be able to refocus. With Johnny’s trial over, he can get busy doing evil and bad things with the hospital.

I am expecting him to meet with Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney) to discuss what is next with Johnny off the hook. I wonder if the big plans include Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton). Marlena may have some more Queen of the Night dreams. The new Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) could be revealed soon. I do wonder if the Arabian Knights tie into it and whether little Rachel still has a role to play.

There is the question: why doesn’t she seem to remember shooting EJ? Why has she been so focused on that Arabian Knights book? A lot of things don’t add up. She can send bad texts, but picking up a gun and shooting someone is next level. But she is a DiMera.

Philip wakes up in bed with Gabi, and this seems to be part of her corporate sabotage plan. However, our leaker has told us that they are going to catch feelings for each other. It’s just a matter of time before Leo discovers Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford)’s secret daughter back in Texas that nobody but the family knows about.
