Few people fight quite like siblings. And that goes double when you’re as different as General Hospital‘s Jason and Drew. They may be twins, they may even share some memories, but those two have virtually nothing in common these days — other than hating each other! And that even spilled over a bit into The Jennifer Hudson Show when a few General Hospital folks stopped by to talk all things Port Charles.

When Hudson broke out some soap trivia, one of the questions she asked was, “Who has an evil twin?” Finola Hughes raised her hand, of course, as she’s played both Anna and Alex over the years. But to the surprise of quite a few, Cameron Mathison also raised his hand!

“I mean, I think Jason’s evil,” Mathison said, drawing audible gasps and yells, and even causing Laura Wright (Carly) to turn around in surprise. He then added, “From my perspective!”

And that last bit he added is key! Check out the clip below, then keep going to find out what Mathison meant.

Mathison spoke to TV Insider about the moment recently to clarify a few things.

“I regretted it,” the actor admitted of his off-the-cuff statement on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “I should have said, ‘I’m the evil twin.’ Drew thinks Jason’s the evil twin, but he’s not.”

And if Mathison was speaking in character as Drew on the show, then yeah, he would think Jason is the evil one! After all, Drew’s the politician, while Jason’s the mob enforcer. Drew, as Mathison continued in character to TV Insider, believes, “I did everything right. Everyone kicked me out. Carly kicked me out for [Jason]. And what did I do? I fell in love with somebody.”

“Jason and Drew got into it,” Mathison says of Drew blasting Jason for his hypocrisy in Friday’s show. “He lays into him: ‘You’ve had everything. You had the cushy life. You had opportunities.’” And, in turn Jason is, “’killing people…they still love you.’”

And, well, he kind of does have a point. Yeah, Drew’s been ticking everyone off, contributed to his nephew’s marriage crumbling and just been something of a jerk for a little while now, but folks do seem a lot more willing to forgive Jason for the things he’s done. Someday, though, maybe Drew can come back from this and pick up the nice guy mantle once again.
