Welp, from the get-go, Days of Our Lives’ Liam made an impression — just not necessarily a good one. The newcomer was introduced in October as Theo’s onetime bully who was being mentored by his victim’s father Abe as part of a grand theft auto plea deal.

Not exactly anybody’s first choice to be our next BFF.

But there appears to be more to Hank Northrop’s character than his dark past and bad attitude. His surname, you’ll note, is Selejko. Kinda unusual in a town full of Hortons and Bradys and Carvers, right? Our hunch is that he’s the son of 1980s supervixen Ivy Selejko, who moved heaven and earth to come between former gang member Pete Jannings and his true love, Melissa Anderson.

Back in the day, Ivy managed to get Pete to put a ring on it and gave birth to his child, Charles Peter Jannings. But given that Dad’s heart belonged to another, the marriage didn’t last. We haven’t heard a peep from Ivy since she left Salem with Charles in 1987. In that time, who’s to say that his relationship with his father hasn’t deteriorated to the point that he took his mom’s surname and changed his own first one?

As for Liam’s criminal record, well, that would just be a case of like father, like son, no?

Though Michael Leon, who played Pete, doesn’t seem to have acted in a decade, Holly Gagnier, aka Ivy, remains active. In fact, it was just a few years ago that she reprised her General Hospital role of Luke Spencer’s Mob bride, Jennifer Smith. So perhaps a blast-from-the-past family reunion is in store for Liam and longtime viewers.
