General Hospital Spoilers: Ric Urges Ava To Renew Sonny Custody Battle, Avery Unsafe In Corinthos World?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) penthouse explosion will have devastating effects on the mob boss moving forward.

Not only will he deal with watching his son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) struggle with recovery, but he could stand to lose custody of Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola).

As fans recall, he and Ava Jerome (Maura West) were once locked in a custody battle, but the entire thing hit a standstill after she was accused of being at fault for the Metro Court pool accident that caused the demise of Baby Irene Ashford.

After she was acquitted of this, she hit another roadblock when her Cassadine divorce settlement was taken from her.

Right now, Ava doesn’t really have the funds to pay Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) to spearhead a new custody battle; however, with the way Ric feels about his half-brother, she may not need money this time around.

News about Michael and Sonny’s penthouse explosion is bound to hit Ric’s ears at some point, and the lawyer may get a stroke of genius for the perfect angle for Ava to win back full custody of her daughter.

In light of the attack on the penthouse, the very home little Avery resides on a daily basis, and the fact that one of Sonny’s other children got caught in the crosshairs and is fighting for his life, presents a unique opportunity.

Someone is obviously targeting Sonny, which creates an unsafe environment for Avery.

Much like Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was able to strike while the iron was hot and snag Wiley Corinthos (Vern Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko), right from under Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) nose, could Ric decide to do the same to Sonny?

Could he petition with a judge to remove Avery from Sonny’s custody, for the interim, until the perpetrator is found?

Ric would state this is for the safety of Avery, but how long would it take for the PCPD or even the WSB to figure out who was behind the strike considering the explosive device left no evidence behind?

General Hospital spoilers suggest there’s no way that Ric will allow something of this magnitude to slide by.

Ric’s all about rubbing salt in the wound, so as Sonny struggles with the aftermath of his penthouse explosion and Michael’s condition, will Ric pull a slim ball move by taking Avery away from him, too?
