General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for the week of August 4-8 reveals that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will shock Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) while Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) deals with a crushing blow. Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) will also face a loyalty test, so let’s talk about what’s ahead on the ABC soap.

Down by the docks, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will have a strange encounter with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati).

Meanwhile, Ava Jerome (Maura West) will talk to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) about cutting Ric loose when it comes to their blackmail arrangement – though it seems she’ll put him through one final loyalty test first.

If that involves Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and coming to her rescue somehow, Ric is probably going to let Ava down.

It’s clear that Ric cares a great deal about Liz and may end up putting her first.

As for Chase, he’ll be devastated when Brooke Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) delays their adoption plans.

Brook Lynn won’t feel right about starting a new family when there’s still so much upheaval with Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza).

Afterward, Chase will get into an argument with Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), so he may rush to Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) defense and act like Michael’s being unfair by withholding her children.

Over with Sonny, he’ll get stunning updates during a conversation with Jason.

It sounds like Jason will come clean about all the clues that are piling up about Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) survival.

Sonny will eventually bond with ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor), so could some flying sparks result?

Are Sonny and ADA Turner headed into more romantic territory?

Other GH spoilers say Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) will find a new ally who might be able to help her.

However, more parental struggles are on the way for Lulu and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) – especially since Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) may give Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) some risky advice.

Rocco may latch onto Obrecht even more since his parents are going to be outraged later.

Dante and Lulu may blame Liesl for brainwashing Rocco, but he’ll refuse to keep his distance.

While Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) comes clean to Trina Robinson (Brook Kerr) about her growing feelings for Gio, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will turn to Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) for assistance.
