Jaws dropped while watching the December 5 episode of General Hospital (which is recapped in full here). Not only did Jeff Kober reprise his role of Bible-thumping psycho Cyrus in Laura’s nightmare, but Avery Kristen Pohl was back, too, as vicious vixen Esme. And that may have just been the beginning!

Though the scheme queen went overboard overseas with ex-lover Spencer nearly a year ago, she may not be quite as deceased as is believed — or as is wanted to be believed! “I would like to think that she is on a little vacation somewhere,” the actress tells Soap Opera Digest. “Maybe she stuck around France, maybe she’s… in Morocco on a camel.”

Wherever Esme washed ashore after that French twist, she’s alive and well in her portrayer’s mind. Ryan and Heather’s daughter does have a history, after all, of surviving splashy demises. (Need we remind you of the parapet incident of 2022?)

“I don’t think she’s dead,” Pohl maintains, adding with a laugh that “if there’s not a body, you’re not dead is my rule of thumb.”

Heck, even if there is a body, that’s not exactly conclusive evidence on General Hospital (which must have the worst coroners anywhere). Remember, we saw Britt die on air, and look at her now. There was a whole funeral for Nathan, and yet… he’s baaack.
