On today’s Days of Our Lives, Alex and Stephanie are eating at the pub, when she has Roman bring out a cupcake for his birthday. Alex is amazed that she even knew it was his birthday. She hands him some arrow shaped cufflinks to remind him of his time on the show. He thanks her with a kiss and she suggests they hang at his place since Jada’s still crashing at hers.
He asks how Jada’s doing and Steph admits she’s a mess. Roman interrupts with Will on the phone, wanting to do a birthday video chat with Sonny and Ari, while Stephanie heads off to talk to Rafe. After she’s gone, Roman has a talk with Alex, warning him not to hurt his niece again. “Stephanie’s amazing. I know that. I swear to you she will get all the love and respect she deserves.”

Chad Helps Leo — and Cat!
Leo stops by the Horton house to talk to Chad about returning to the paper. Chad doesn’t think it’s a good idea. After the Kerry fiasco, Lady Whistleblower should be retired. Leo agrees — he wants to be a real journalist. “Yeaaah, I don’t know, Leo.” Leo pitches his skills, reminding Chad of his Horton family story last year, and begs for a chance. Chad agrees to give it a shot.
Leo starts going off a mile a minute about ideas, and Chad cuts him short, telling him he needs to learn some journalistic ethics and standards. Leo assures his boss he won’t regret hiring him back.

Marlena’s going over some papers in her office when Cat shows up for her first day. Marlena asks how Vancouver was, then breaks the news about the hospital bankruptcy. Kayla’s looking into it, but they need “a large influx of cash.” Cat asks about organizing a fundraiser. It may not bring in enough money, but it could rally public support enough to get the attention of some rich folks to help.
A short time later, Marlena and Cat have lunch in the square and talk strategy, with the new assistant sounding more like a publicist. Chad walks by and says hi, saying he heard about the hospital. Marlena asks him to join so Cat can share her ideas with him.
Gabi and Javi Ponder Rafe’s Problem
Javi rushes into the office, apologizing to Gabi about being late. He tells her about his encounter with Jada, and his revelation that “Rafe” cheated. Gabi has a tough time believing it, but Javi convinces her it’s true. “I just don’t get it. When did my brother become such a dirtbag?” They both marvel over Rafe’s change… Though Gabi admits her brother did cheat on Ava with Nicole. And that time he slept with Sami while engaged to Hope.

“Maybe this could have been a blind spot for us,” Javi suggests. Gabi doesn’t think so — something is off. Rafe was seriously sorry for his cheating before and now he’s callous and cold about it? “This may sound a little far-fetched, but I have a theory.” But it’s not even in the ballpark. She thinks it could be a delayed coma reaction, so she’s going to try to get him to the doctor. “I won’t give him a choice.”
Javi says Rafe’s lucky to have her as his sister, and Gabi tells her cousin that she’s so grateful there, she just wishes he wasn’t dating the devil.
Shawn Comforts Jada… and More
Shawn finds Jada crying on a bench in the Horton Square and she leaps into his arms, tearfully telling him about “Rafe’s” cheating. He wonders if there’s an explanation, then brings up sleeping with Jada’s sister. “Did he get really drunk and just make a stupid choice?”
Nah, she says. Rafe didn’t have any remorse, according to Javi. Shawn offers to take her home and they leave. Shawn tells Jada she’s strong as he hands her some tissues, and when she tells him he can go, he refuses to leave her like this. She wants to put on some Beyoncé, get in touch with her “bad bitch self,” grab a baseball bat and find Rafe.

Except she doesn’t have a bat… Neither does Shawn — but he does have a shoulder to cry on. She curls up with him worrying this is all her fault. Somehow, she missed the flags. There were none, Shawn assures her. Jada then moves to the two of them, admitting she wanted to kiss Shawn last night, but didn’t because of Rafe. But those feelings are gone now, so maybe they should get back to it.
They start kissing and things get hot and heavy fast — with only a brief stop while Shawn checks in that he’s not taking advantage of her. They’re both just trying to move on, she says. Shawn agrees he’s done with Belle, especially after talking to her about EJ. So they get back to it after Jada assures him they’ve had a real connection, ever since they were partners. Shawn’s shirt comes off and they get right back to it.
Arnold Assaults Stephanie
Back at Rafe’s, Arnold slams his laptop shut, “bored with porn.” He calls Savannah to have a little fun. A short time later, he answers a knock at the door, ready to jump on her, but it’s Stephanie, arms crossed and angry to talk about Jada. She demands to know why RoboRafe is doing this, but he just tells her it’s not any of her business. She cares about Jada, and so does he. “I just want to help.”
The creep smiles, grabs her head and forces a kiss on her. She pulls away and knees him in the groin. “You disgusting pig!” She throws at him, then storms off.
Stephanie Remembers Arnold
In the show’s final moments, Javi picks up a blonde wig on Gabi’s desk, putting it on just as Leo walks in. After telling him he looks like “Dollar Store Heather Locklear,” Leo breaks the news that he’s back at The Spectator. But this time, as a journalist! Javi’s thrilled, but tells Leo he told Jada about the cheating. He worries it was a bad idea, but Leo assures him it was never fair of Rafe to demand he keep quiet.
Gabi bursts into her home and immediately berates Rafe for cheating on Jada. When she says Javi told her, “Rafe’s” response is, “Of course. Gossipy little queen.” Gabi is furious and lays into him before wondering what the hell happened to him. When he calls her a “bitch” about the way she’s treating him, she stares him down, looking ready to murder him right then and there.

Marlena gets a text calling her back to the office and leaves Chad and Cat to brainstorm on the fundraiser. Cat apologizes, awkwardly saying she’s probably the last person he wants to work with. Chad just smiles.
Stephanie gets back to the pub and shakily tells Alex Rafe shoved his tongue down her throat. Alex gets up to pound Rafe, but Steph stops him. “I can’t help but feel this strange sense of déjà vu.” Alex asks if Rafe’s hit on her before and Stephanie looks horrified. “Oh my God. What if it wasn’t Rafe?”
She tells him about Arnold taking over Rafe’s life years ago — and being inappropriate with her then, too.
