Days of our Lives: EJ DiMera’s Shocking Split from Belle Black
EJ recently blew it with Belle Black (Martha Madison) by exposing their relationship during Johnny DiMera’s (Carson Boatman) attempted murder trial. Belle told him that he’s dead to her. After the trial, she never wants to see EJ again. And Belle means what she says.
DOOL Romance Prospects: Who Will Mend EJ’s Heart?
Hunky EJ is single once again. Belle Black no longer wants to be his lover. I do wonder if she might run back to Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer) or not. But as for EJ, the dimpled defense attorney is a free agent, whether he likes it or not. He has been kicked to the curb.
It’s kind of sad because there’s obvious affection between EJ and Belle Black. They even swapped “I love yous.” But EJ did Belle dirty, and now she’s not having it. EJ may find comfort in the arms of another woman to drown his emotional sorrows. We’ve got a few lucky ladies that we think might be good options for Elvis Junior.
EJ DiMera’s Courtroom Betrayal: Fallout for Belle Black
First, I just did not have on my Days of Our Lives bingo card that EJ was going to betray Belle Black in front of everybody in the courtroom. I figured EJ would be a lot sneakier and more conniving when trying to get a mistrial for Belle alleged misconduct as Salem’s DA.
I thought he would sneak the info to the judge and act shocked. But no, Elvis Junior stunned the jury, the judge, and Belle when he demanded a mistrial after forcing Johnny DiMera to admit on the stand that his Aunt Belle was his dad’s girlfriend. I mean, yikes. Johnny cringed. He didn’t want to do it, but EJ made him.
However, the judge is no fool. She saw right through EJ’s delay tactics and courtroom antics. Belle is still on the job as the district attorney. The trial is still going on, but their relationship is collateral damage. EJ ruined things when he nearly destroyed Belle Black’s career.
Who’s Next? Gwen Rizczech’s Interest in EJ DiMera
So this begs the question, who would be willing to hop into E’Js bed after this? I just don’t see him staying single for too long. Even if it’s not love, I could see EJ taking a hot and sexy tumble with somebody new to ease his achy, breaky heart. One possibility is his nephew, Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera‘s (Peter Porte) wife, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien).
She was the first to chat up EJ after Belle dumped him hard. Gwen still has her eyes on her hot ex, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). But we know he would rather be with Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). He has made that clear. Gwen tried to get Xander Cook into her bed, but he tapped the brakes even while drunk. He knew it was a bad idea.

Although Gwen just told Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) that she and Xander are getting together, that’s not happening. Xander is going to make it clear to Sarah that Gwen is just messing with her. Sarah will say she doesn’t care, but she really does. So from there, what’s poor Gwenny to do?
Since she seems to like the bad boys of Salem and the DiMera’s, maybe she puts Xander Cook behind her, at least for now, and decides to hook up with sad and lonely EJ. They do have a few things in common. They’re ruthless. They both have British accents. And they have both been rejected recently.

Another possibility for EJ is Gabi Hernandez (currently Cherie Jimenez). You will probably recall EJ hooked up with Gabi once or twice before, back when she found out her ex, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash), had been twisting with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). Back then, it was passionate hate sex for Gabi and EJ.
Right now, Gabi Hernandez is working with EJ’s brother Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to get dirt on the Kiriakis brothers, Xander and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier), so they can try to get DiMera back from them. Gabi shared a hot kiss with Xander Cook, but then he caused a big scene at the Bistro and nearly punched Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

Gabi is not done, though. She’s about to make some honey pot moves to lure Philip into this plot. Our leaker says those two are going to fall for each other when she does it. But before that, Gabi might enjoy a night of sexy bedroom games with Elvis Junior. I mean, Gabi did tell Stefan that his brother EJ was really hot in the sack on Days of Our Lives.
Legal Sparks: Melinda Trask and EJ DiMera’s Complicated Connection
Another eligible bachelorette that EJ might consider is past legal rival Melinda Trask (Tina Huang). Her recent fraudulent adoption scheme for Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) could see her needing a lawyer of her own, if Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson), Tate Black (currently Leo Howard), or Brady find out what Melinda has been up to.
EJ could represent Melinda Trask if she is charged. That might spark something personal and professional between them. Aside from an unrequited crush on Stefan and a brief thing with now-dead Lynne, we know Melinda has been mostly single. She may turn to EJ for legal advice and maybe some bedroom action.
Classic DOOL Couple: Sami Brady Returns to EJ’s World
We also have to throw Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) into the mix. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention her. Of course, EJ and Sami have a long history together. They share two kids, Johnny and Sydney DiMera (Avery and Cade Seger). Not long ago, EJ’s oddball psychic mom, Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk), reminded him that Sami still has an obsession with him.
EJ didn’t see Sami when she flew into Salem to grieve with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and offer Johnny some support. But Hurricane Sami blows back into Salem in November for the Days of Our Lives 60th anniversary episode. It wouldn’t surprise me one little bit if EJ and Sami rekindle their romance or at least have a few sexy nights together while she’s in town.
Sami vs Belle: DOOL’s Ultimate Love Rivalry
Sami hates that Belle had been seeing EJ, so I could see Sami getting friendly and getting frisky with her ex, EJ, to make sure he and Belle stay split up. However, with that in mind, we also have to mention that EJ’s next lover might be his last lover.
Belle Black could change her mind about dumping EJ. We’ve seen things grow between them. Belle was the first to say “I love you,” but by then EJ was already smitten. They really do seem to love each other, and Belle and EJ have amazing chemistry.
The Future of EJ DiMera and Belle Black on DOOL
Belle may find herself longing for EJ after the trial ends. Plus, Belle has to know that EJ was desperate to keep Johnny from going to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. In the end, I feel like Belle is going to circle back. This isn’t the first time she has called things quit with EJ.
When her dad, John Black (Drake Hogestyn), had been burned in the explosion and he was suffering, of course, EJ couldn’t just come up to the hospital to check on her because the family despises him. They have good reason for a lot of the things he’s done to Sami, John, and others.
But Belle also was saying that she just felt like her dad John would be disappointed in her choosing EJ. That sentiment carried over to John’s death and his funeral service when EJ couldn’t be at her side because of all those reasons.
However, I don’t think Marlena is going to push Belle to hold a grudge or anything like that. I still feel like Belle is going to come around. But in the interim, EJ may hook up with somebody else.
