It’s a family affair for Days of Our Lives star Stacy Haiduk, her husband, Bradford Tatum, and their 27-year-old daughter, Sophia Tatum. The trio hopes to develop their short film, Brand New Cadillac, into a feature-film-length theatrical experience, aiming to take a bite out of the box office.

Haiduk gave Soaps.com an inside look at their exciting project during a recent Days of Our Lives set visit.

“Brand New Cadillac is a mother and daughter road-trip movie. Mother just happens to need blood to feed on, and daughter just happens to be a psycho killer. So, it’s one week in the desert, and daughter has to feed mommy,” she reveals while promising that the film has “a lot of heart and love, though.”

The film was a labor of love for the entire Haiduk-Tatum clan. Dad wrote the script while the mother-daughter duo took over the directing and acting responsibilities. Haiduk explained to us what their next steps are with the movie so daytime fans can really sink their teeth into helping the project expand to the next level.

“We are doing a little fundraiser on July 27th, at 7 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. PT. We will be showing the whole short film and then doing some Q&A and a little auction at the end of it, so I hope you can join us,” Haiduk shares. “I think it’ll be a lot of fun.”

Brand New Cadillac has already been featured in several film festivals, including the 25th Landshut Short Film Festival in Germany and the Overlook Film Festival in New Orleans. Haiduk also posted plenty of behind-the-scenes snapshots that will have you thirsting for a sequel if you’re a horror fan.

This isn’t the first time the family has worked together. Bradford wrote, directed, and starred in the 2006 drama, Salt (not the Angelina Jolie film), which also featured Haiduk and Sophia. Daytime viewers will also remember Sophia’s turn in Salem in 2020.  She played Xander’s mysterious lady of the evening while he was staying at the Salem Inn, nursing his broken heart over Sarah.
