Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) won a date with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) in the hospital fundraiser bachelorette auction. But did he place the winning bid to make Belle Black (Martha Madison) jealous or to clap back on his brother Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn)?
Let’s take a look at the upcoming big date between Cat and EJ. Are there ulterior motives for him to get involved in the auction fresh off waking up from that post-shooting coma?
This could be about his brother Chad and a little payback. Or it could be EJ taking aim at Belle for a little payback for her wire-wearing subterfuge. Will EJ treat Cat to a wild night of romance and revelry?
Days of our Lives: EJ DiMera’s Dodgy Auction Bid
So, look at the timeline for this auction bid because it’s peculiar. EJ was shot on April 3rd. He had life-saving surgery. Then, Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) told Chad they needed to start a medically induced coma. It was to stop seizures and let EJ’s body recover.
So, she told that to Chad on April 4th. Then, a little less than 3 weeks later, on April 22nd, EJ woke up from the coma. And the online Bachelorette auction ended on the 23rd.
So that has me wondering did EJ wake up from this coma and immediately go online? Why would he wake up and start bidding on a date for the fundraiser?
That seems strange, right? For somebody to be that foggy after a coma, it makes no sense. When exactly did EJ find the time to do this?
Maybe EJ DiMera wanted to donate to the hospital just to be helpful to the community. And then Rita did the bidding for him and she chose Cat.
She may know Cat’s close to Chad, who has rubbed her boss EJ the wrong way. Remember, Chad published those hit pieces in The Spectator about him.
EJ DiMera Used Cat Greene to Make Belle Black Jealous on DOOL?
But if EJ chose Cat and bid on her,it could very well be about making Belle jealous. Because EJ bared his soul to her. He’s opened up. He’s been vulnerable. He said he cared for her.
Then, Belle walked away and came back wearing a wire. So, Belle just admitted she loves EJ. But she’s also getting some advice late this week from her mama, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).
She doesn’t like Belle with EJ, but will respect her decision. We all know EJ’s done horrible things to Belle’s whole family on Days of Our Lives.
Even in the last year, EJ stole Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan)’s infant son, Jude. Plus, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), recently told Belle she should know better than to date her ex-husband EJ.
Belle may reject him again. So, EJ may want that date with Cat out in public on Days to rub it in Belle’s face. He may hope to inspire jealousy that might get her to run back to him.
EJ may impress his date Cat and make his ex-lover Belle green with envy. That could be fun. I mean, fans know that she can’t just stay away from EJ. And the feeling is mutual.
EJ vs. Chad DiMera – Days of our Lives Revenge Date?
The thing with Cat might be a pivot for EJ. Did EJ spend all the money to get back at his brother? Chad did publish those tell-all articles right before the shooting.
He let Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) kind of run wild. And, Chad did apologize. EJ dismissed it like it was no big deal.
But that doesn’t mean he’s not secretly planning some payback on his brother Chad. We know the DiMera siblings take no prisoners. They have no issue targeting one another.
So, EJ may have seen Chad getting close with Cat before the shooting. And, EJ may think using this date with Cat for revenge on his brother might be a bit of fun.
Chad’s Complicated Feelings for Cat Greene
Chad’s trying hard to not like Cat. He’s fighting his attraction to her. But they’ve got chemistry, so it hasn’t been easy. But in the end, Chad’s not ready to date anybody right now.
Plus, you know, Cat did impersonate his dead wife Abigail Deveraux (AnnaLynne McCord) on Days of Our Lives last year. That’s kind of a dealbreaker.
Chad forgave Cat, but Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Horton (Cady McClain) don’t want him near Cat. Jack and Jenn despise her.
EJ’s Ulterior Motives Revealed on Days of our Lives
Is EJ’s real motive is to make Belle squirm with jealousy? Or to make Chad squirm with jealousy? Or maybe this was just an opportunity to do both of these things.
Maybe the chance at revenge fell into his lap while EJ was recovering in the hospital. Or maybe EJ is just throwing money at the auction to help the hospital.
His public image could use a little rehab on Days of our Lives. Either way, I expect EJ to make the most of his night with Cat Greene.
As we reported before, there was a sneak peek of the Days 60th anniversary photo shoot that Dan Feuerriegel posted. The producers set up photos with Chad, Cat, and EJ together.
That’s for episodes not airing until November. So, whatever is about to happen with EJ, Cat, and Chad, it could be the start of something.
Don’t forget Chad exits in early 2026 because Billy Flynn went to The Young and the Restless. He makes his debut over there very soon. As far as we know, there’s no recast of Chad either.
That means Cat needs another love interest. We’ll let you know if we hear anything from our sources. For now, we’re super excited to see EJ take Cat out for a night on the town.
