Melinda brings Sweet Bits in to Kristen, who’s sleeping, sitting at the table in the interrogation room. Kristen’s thrilled, but then asks for some news, which Melinda warns she won’t like. That’s when Kristen learns about the Titan takeover, which sends Kristen into a rage. She’s been removed as CEO.

Shawn arrives at work and he and JJ go over the ballistics results, then head in to visit an irate Kristen. The bullet was damaged during surgery… but it didn’t match Kristen’s gun. She tries leaving, but the cops say she could still have used another weapon.

Melinda insults them until they agree to let Kristen leave. She’s off to fight for her company back — but first she wants her gun back. They hand it over.

Stephanie Encourages Jada

At Stephanie’s, she and Jada enjoy coffee, marveling over the Spectator article on the Titan/DiMera takeover. Jada thanks her friend for letting her crash again after Rafe kicked her out. She doesn’t want to tick him off more by staying at Shawn’s.

Rafe already stopped by Shawn’s, then ran off. She needs to convince him she still loves Rafe with all her heart. Stephanie assures Jada Rafe just needs time. Rafe’s reaction means he really, really loves her. He’ll move past this once he stops hurting.

He’s a good, emotionally intelligent man. Stephanie suggests Rafe could be in a better place after talking to Shawn, so Jada should reach out. She tries texting him, but doesn’t get a response. Stephanie, though, tells her that doesn’t mean anything and she should go to Small Bar to meet him in case he shows. “What do you have to lose?”

Rafe and Sami Bask In the Glow

Javi, meanwhile, bursts into Rafe’s room to find him and Sami in bed together, no clothes. Rafe introduces his ex wife and cousin. Javi awkwardly tells them he made waffles, then runs out after Rafe confirms he didn’t fix things with Jada — she’s still sleeping with Shawn (Sami’s sister’s ex/cousin).

Sami laughs that for once she wasn’t caught and had to hide or be ashamed. Rafe assures her that he didn’t sleep with her to get back at Jada. They both feel good about what they did and do it again.

“Now what?” Rafe asks. “I go back home,” Sami replies. To Italy. That’s her life now — but Rafe could come with her. He can’t, and he thinks she only asked because she knew that. But they both agree how much they mean to each other, then Sami heads down for waffles. Rafe gets dressed and gets a text from Jada asking to meet at Small Bar. She really needs to talk to him.

Gabi and Leo are having a not-at-all peaceful breakfast as they fight over everything. Leo takes the opportunity to mention how Gabi’s soon to be out of a job. He read that Titan took over DiMera, and he doubts they’ll keep her in the mix.

Gabi tries spinning it, but Leo knows she tried walking away, but Xander and Philip won’t let her. They’ll dump her the first chance they get. They spar a bit more and Leo casually mentions he figured Gabi pulled the trigger on EJ, but then they went and nabbed Kristen. So that theory is done.

Javi comes downstairs just then, seemingly still in shock, and tells them about Rafe sleeping with his ex-wife. As they puzzle out who he means, Leo realizes it’s the ex who hates him most. Sami comes downstairs. “Hello, Leo.”

Gabi greets Sami cheerfully, then they debate who Ari will visit over the summer with smiles on their faces. (Hint: It’s Gabi. And you can read about that here.) Rafe arrives to a room full of tension, which is Gabi’s cue to head out. He offers to give Sami a ride, but she says no, and sits down for waffles, staring down Leo with a smile.

Sami wolfs down waffles, telling Javi that they’re phenomenal. Leo sits down. “Sami, may I call you Sami?” “No, you may not.” He knows he hurt Will, but he’s worked hard on himself and won’t ever do that again. Especially since finding Javi.

Sami’s mock touched that they’re each other’s true loves. That means they should know everything about each other. So she tries telling Javi about Leo’s bad deeds, but Javi knows them all and Sami can’t say anything to change it. She throws out a few more comments, then strolls out the door.

In the Show’s Final Moments

JJ and Shawn acknowledge Kristen is off the list — for now. But there’s still Gabi, like it or not. Time to face the music and take a look at her. JJ asks Gabi to stop by and asks her to talk in private. Her face falls as he says it. Kristen’s been cleared, JJ says, which means there are other suspects. “You’re one of them.”

Jada sits at Small Bar alone, checking her messages. Just as she’s about to give up, Rafe walks in.

Kristen barges into her (former) office at DiMera as Melinda tries holding her back. This is trespassing. As they argue, Xander strolls in to ask what Kristen’s doing in HIS office. Melinda tries telling Xander that as the company’s legal counsel, she was advising Kristen to leave. Great, Xander says. But also, Melinda’s fired, too. Trask leaves Xander and Kristen alone. After a few words, she pulls her gun out and trains it on Xander.
