Salem’s covered in snow as Jack and Jennifer get ready to take Chad to court, going over all their horrible reasons for taking his kids. Thomas has no crazy court room antic clothes, on account of a growth spurt, so Jennifer runs out to pick some new stuff up. Jack gives Thomas a pep talk, telling the kid if he wants to spite his dad live with them, he has to go to court.

What Is Cat’s Plan for EJ?

Cat gets ready to head home to prepare for her and EJ’s date night at Chez DiMera, when he suggests that their time in Italy was orchestrated by Clyde Weston. She leaves and EJ heads to the courthouse for Chad’s hearing. Well, that won’t go well.

After calling Rafe for an update on Chad’s phone (no luck), Cat and Jennifer spot each other in the square. Cat tries telling Jen that Chad’s a good man and she’s out of his life, but Jennifer hops on her high horse, makes Cat feel like dirt, then leaves her in the square. Cat gets her bearings (and a drink) and calls Andrew for some drugs. Legal ones, presumably.

Gabi Gets Her Company Back

Gabi and Theo meet in the Pub to sign Gabi Chic back over to her. She admits he’s impressed her and while she’ll never give up her company again, she’s willing to work together. EJ interrupts their lovely coffee talk to pick up a milkshake for Thomas and insult Gabi, then leave.

Gabi sketches out a thumbnail of her and EJ’s history, then suggests switching to drink drinks. Theo’s already planning on it for his second date with Jada at Trivia Night, which gets him an earful about RoboRafe Part II: Jada Boogaloo. So Theo needs to watch his back with Uncle EJ, Gabi warns. Also, EJ might be behind Tony’s disappearance. (But that’s way too obvious, right?)

But time for Trivia Night! She’ll call Philip over for another go at it. And, she makes clear, he doesn’t know anything about her betrayal. So zip it, Theo.

Is EJ Really Looking for Chad?

Chad finally comes to in the crypt. His siblings lay it all out, which is a whole lot of nothing. All they know is someone’s targeting DiMera siblings. Chad explains how he ended up here — custody case and all.

Kristen tells Chad it’s the day after Thanksgiving (just say Black Friday, already) and Chad freaks out over his court hearing. Jennifer will just use this to her advantage. But Kristen and Tony both realize that Chad missing court could finally make people start to look for them. So this is great timing! For them. EJ will know something’s wrong, so he’ll get people moving on finding them.

Will Chad Lose His Kids?

EJ and Justin are the first to arrive to court, and they both want to try talking to their clients about mediation instead of court. But then they don’t bother? Jack, Jen and Thomas show up, followed by the judge.

But no Chad, which, EJ insists, is proof that something’s seriously wrong. He asks for a continuance and Jennifer agrees to wait. They’ll reconvene in a week. Thomas worries that something did actually happen to his dad, while EJ just watches in the background.

In the Show’s Final Moments

Jack and Jennifer get Thomas home, but he’s still worried about Chad. So are they, but they don’t let him know. As soon as he goes to change, Jennifer makes it clear that being a DiMera is dangerous, Chad is in trouble and they’re taking Thomas far, far away. Jack, at least, calls JJ to report Chad missing.

Cat returns to the DiMeras, where EJ tells her that Chad didn’t show. She loses it, and EJ finally seems worried. He promises he let the police know and he’s doing everything he can to find his brother. After some pleasantries about the missing DiMeras, Cat spikes EJ’s drink.He takes a few sips and drops on the couch, out cold.
