So far, no matter what the point is to the DiMera family kidnapping on Days of Our Lives, it hasn’t seemed to be a matter of life or death. Everyone in the crypt was unconscious when they were thrown in, which means whoever nabbed them, could have easily killed them if they’d wanted. But all that’s changed with Kristen’s infection.
Something bad enough to spike a fever and cause her to collapse like it did at the end of Friday’s episode, likely won’t be beaten without medical intervention. And if it keeps going on, Kristen could die.

That means that one way or another, this touching little family reunion has to end soon. Either the guys have to get it together to charge their way out the next time the crypt opens — and do a far better job at keeping an eye on the opening — or convince whoever threw them in that if they don’t want Kristen to die, they have to get out.
Food and water will have to be replenished at some point. There has to be contact. And even if it just results in antibiotics being tossed in, again, the guys have to take the opportunity to force their way out.
That’s if the person responsible for this isn’t already in there with them. Because that takes us to the Peter of it all.
Did anyone else find it suspicious that the camera cut to him when Kristen was explaining how she had thought EJ was faking being a prisoner so he could watch the rest of the family squirm? Yes, Stefano’s heirs are definitely being targeted, but we haven’t seen Peter in nearly 30 years. His sudden appearance is highly suspicious, like it or not.
If he’s behind all this, there’s no telling just yet what his game is — but it seems a fair bet that he doesn’t want this to end with his sister’s death. His biological sister who he grew up with, no less!
If Kristen’s life was truly on the line, that might be enough to get Peter to drop the facade and end this imprisonment to save her. But if he’s not behind it… One way or another, the DiMeras have to end this and find out who’s kidnapped them all. And digging with candle sconces just isn’t going to cut it.
