Hold on to your Gen X hearts because two General Hospital superstars from the ’80s had the most totally tubular reunion on February 8 in Los Angeles. John Stamos presented his former daytime co-star Demi Moore with an AARP Award for Best Actress for her work in The Substance — Blackie Parrish and Jackie Templeton were back together again!

General Hospital‘s Instagram account celebrated Moore’s win with sweet snapshots of the dynamic duo as they cuddled closely. They looked so happy to be in each other’s company as Moore campaigned her way through award-show season, hoping to top off her bookshelf with an Oscar on March 2. “Jackie Templeton and Blackie Parrish — together again!” the caption read. “John Stamos had the honor of presenting Demi Moore with the AARP Award for Best Actress over the weekend, which she received for her role in The Substance.”

Stamos also gave his followers a sneak peek at behind-the-scenes footage from the event which will air on PBS on Sunday, Feb. 23. He wrote a sweet message to Moore, who is experiencing a true renaissance in her career after being told for decades that she was just a “popcorn actress.” Stamos reminisced, “Demi and I go back over 40 years, to when we played Blackie and Jackie on General Hospital. We had big hair, big dreams and enough hairspray between us to single-handedly destroy the ozone layer.

“Her performance in The Substance doesn’t just push boundaries—it flips them the bird and walks away in slow motion,” he continued while noting the movie’s “themes of aging, body trauma and the relentless pressure to stay forever young” by society. “Demi is proof that some things only get better with time — like fine wine, classic rock and the number of abs she has. Proud of you my friend. XO JS.”

Their General Hospital Beginnings

Moore and Stamos debuted within weeks of each other on General Hospital in January 1982. Jackie was the intrepid reporter on the show while Blackie was the kid from the wrong side of the tracks trying to straighten out his life — and the soap was at the peak of its fandom. Moore and Stamos were cast at just the right time.

While their careers blossomed on screen, there might have been a casual fling between the two actors off screen (it just depends on whom you ask). In Stamos’ 2023 memoir If You Would Have Told Me, he recalled a friend asking the two of them if they had ever hooked up at the height of their General Hospital fame. Moore’s response was subtle. “‘I don’t know if we slept together. I think we fooled around, though,’” she said, per Stamos’ book. As for the actor? Well, he kept his mouth shut, leaving the mystery behind the possible romance a long-kept Hollywood secret. “I just smiled,” he wrote.

That no-comment response gives off the vibe that something might have happened between Jackie and Blackie, but fans will just have to keep guessing.

The 24th AARP Movies for Grownups Awards airs on PBS on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 7 pm ET.
