Duggar News followers have been keeping up with Dillon’s ongoing lawsuit. Amy King’s husband, Dillon King, has been in trouble for not paying the rent for his Arkansas-based restaurant. He owns Wellington’s Restaurant with his two partners in Springdale. The trio entered the lease contract in 2018 and opened their restaurant in 2020. King rented the property from September 2018 to December 2023. However, they allegedly vacated the property in July 2023, which was against their lease.
Hence, the landlord, Hillcrest Holdings, LLC, sued Winston Holdings, LLC for failing to make payments after June 2023 and called it a breach of contract. King and his partners responded to the lawsuit in February 2024 and denied all the allegations. The landlord also accused King of damaging the property and not removing any alterations they had made to the property. What did the court order?
Duggar News: Dillon King Ordered To Pay $156k For Second Unpaid Rent Lawsuit!
Dillon King and his partner decided to challenge Hillcrest Holdings, LLC, for a wrongful lawsuit. Hence, Duggar News followers have been waiting for the court’s judgment. The tenant has claimed to stop the payment after the landlord refused any communication. Dillon denied any damage to the property and failed to remove the alterations.
As per The US Sun, he admitted, “Certain payments were not made to the Plaintiff, but failure for such payments to be tendered was after good faith attempts were made to pay.” He denied any material breach of the contract. Hence, an agreement was filed in the court on January 2, 2025. The court ordered King to pay $156,909.96.
However, the decision was made when the landlord filed a second lawsuit for non-payment of the rent. Hillcrest Holdings told that court that Dillon failed to pay $50k in two installments. He refused to pay the unpaid amount, $25,000, after one installment. Dillon was also not ready to sit back after the second lawsuit. He decided to fight back for the unlawful lawsuit.
He argued that the plaintiff wrongfully entered the motion for a judgment. Moreover, he requested the court to reconsider their ruling and vacate the judgment.
