Kristen finally gave us a thumbnail sketch of her revenge plan against EJ on Wednesday’s episode, and it’s just about as bad as we could have imagined! At first, we thought the Days of Our Lives schemer was just trying to put the fear of DiMera into Sophia when she teased the possibility of murder, but it seems that she is, indeed, deadly serious about killing… Johnny?!
Yup, she wants Sophia to help her murder Johnny so she can take EJ’s son away, just like he took her daughter away. Let’s move past the whole “Rachel’s only in an institution temporarily while Kristen can visit her all she wants” and just roll with it. At this point, it looks like EJ and Kristen are both giving into their most murderous, scheming, unhinged DiMera parts, and when that happens, no one is safe.

Normally, we wouldn’t worry too much about a major character — and a major legacy one at that — like Johnny being killed. But these aren’t normal times. We know Carson Boatman was one of four actors let go at the beginning of the year and one way to send characters off is, of course, with a death!
With that said, Boatman was let go in January, so that means Johnny won’t leave until we’re close to the end of the year. (Days of Our Lives shoots way in advance!) But that doesn’t mean he can’t die beforehand!
That, of course, is thanks to EJ’s project. He and Dr. Rolf have proved that they can conquer death by bringing Lexie back. And while we have a sinking feeling that something will go wrong with her, leaving her dead for good, that doesn’t mean their treatment won’t work for someone else. Someone like Johnny.
So yeah, it seems like there’s a very good chance Johnny will end up dead. And with Kristen’s promise that Sophia “will get away with murder,” we’ve got a feeling that actually means Sophia will take the fall for it all. After all, she’s responsible for her share of Rachel’s misery.
But what neither of them know is that EJ has the ability now to bring Johnny back, murder or no murder. It may not be immediate, but EJ would not rest until it happened. But would Johnny’s death shake everyone enough to pull themselves out of these greedy, vengeful spirals?
In the end, this could be what pushes Johnny and Chanel to decide to move town by the time Boatman and Raven Bowens leave. And even if Sophia does take the fall at first, the truth eventually coming out could send Kristen away for her next “rest,” as Stacy Haiduk takes a break from Days of Our Lives once again.
One way or another, it looks like Salem is about to be shaken up in a major way
