“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Adjunct Professor at John Brown University!” the 36-year-old wrote in the LinkedIn post caption. Derick was then teaching Criminal Procedure at John Brown University. Throughout his career changes, he had his wife, Jill’s, unwavering support. Derick’s career move had caught many people off guard. They wondered why he would take up a part-time job instead of an attorney gig.
Duggar News: Derick Will Ship Himself Off To Virginia To Attend Marine Corps Officer Candidate School!
Duggar News today features a big change in Jill and Derick’s lives. Derick has decided to join the Marine Corps. He will soon be shipping out to Quantico, Virginia, to attend Marine Corps Officer Candidate School. Both Jill and Derick made a joint post of him swearing to the cause in front of his three kids. The post read, “Our next big adventure!”
“Lord willing, he will commission as an officer at the end of OCS and then go on to a couple of other trainings before getting his assignment as a Marine Corps JAG officer!” the caption read. Both the husband and wife revealed that Derick had wanted to be a military JAG officer for a very long time. Apparently, he received a recruitment letter last year.
However, it wasn’t the right time for the family of 5. Therefore, they started the process in early March this year. Then everything just fell into place and aligned, and the process swiftly led them to this very moment. Derick will now receive 10 weeks of training at the OSC. The Dillard family is also considering a big move to Virginia.
Jill and her three children will join the patriarch of the family after his 10 weeks of training. “We’d appreciate your prayers for health and strength for Derick as he prepares for and trains at OCS,” the post additionally read. Upon the completion of his training, Derick will become a Second Lieutenant.
