Philip asks a favor of Maggie, then she turns to the Bonnie Problem, ticked that Kate escalated this to legal without talking to anyone. As Philip points out, the money would be useful for Titan — and they could sue Bonnie to speed things up! Maggie draws the line with that and warns Philip to be careful.

Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Justin cautiously warns Bonnie as she signs books that her work is very similar to Stephanie’s. Of course! Bonnie was, er, inspired by Stephanie’s book. Lawyer Justin tries convincing her this could be a legal problem, but she refuses to hear of pulling her book and shuts Justin down. If he doesn’t believe in her, maybe he shouldn’t be at her book launch party!

Theo and Philip Fawn Over Gabi

Theo smiles as he sees Gabi in the square, and walks over to meet with her. He’s got a business proposal to partner DiMera with Gabi Chic. And he’s happy to fight Philip for her — professionally, of course — since Titan will make their own proposal.

Then Philip interrupts and the soon-to-be (or not) head of DiMera rushes off fast enough for Philip to find it weird. But there’s good news! Maggie said yes to him moving back into the mansion — and to Gabi moving in with him. “I want my home to be your home.”

Paulina Warns Chanel

Paulina’s visit to Chanel takes a turn when her daughter credits EJ for saving the day. “One kind gesture does not erase all the horrible things he’s done!” She’s horrified to realize Chanel might let EJ back in their lives and warns the new mom that EJ shows up when people are most vulnerable to offer a deal with the devil. (Not the literal one, thank God.)

Chanel figures out that this vehemence is tied to Paulina’s tough choice from a few weeks ago. It is, but Paulina just gives her daughter a vague reply about having gone with her conscience and runs off.

Can EJ Help Johnny?

As EJ texts Theo to see if he’s still coming, Johnny shows up at the mansion, needing help. He gives EJ the Bonnie Problem rundown. EJ promises they’ll make Kate beg for mercy and starts hashing out ideas, landing on arguing that Bonnie’s book is a parody.

As Johnny blames himself, EJ realizes that Xander and Kate set him up. Johnny’s aghast! “Kate is like a grandmother to me!” (Maybe not for much longer!) EJ twists the knife further saying every Kiriakis would happily use a DiMera for their benefit. Luckily, Johnny has his family. Johnny thanks him and leaves.

Johnny storms into Titan to yell at Maggie, even though she insists she just found out about the lawsuit and promises that he can still come back to Titan. But EJ’s gotten to Johnny. He doesn’t believe her. Maggie admits everything seems suspicious, but it’s not how she does business — just come back to Titan! But Johnny’s done with the company.

Will Theo Keep Quiet?

EJ heads down to Lexie’s bedside to let her know she’s about to have a special guest, then goes back upstairs to greet Theo and hand him a gift to welcome him back to DiMera. Oh, and one other thing… Or rather, some other one.

Theo’s rightfully nervous when he’s taken down into the tunnels, and that turns to shock when EJ ushers him into Lexie’s room. “Oh my God… Mom?” EJ calms him down, explaining Stefano never gave up on Lexie, and EJ didn’t either.

He’s all fake tender and encouraging and “tenderly” explains that he only kept Theo in the dark until he was sure the experiment would be successful. For now, Theo can’t tell anyone, even his dad.

In the Show’s Final Moments

Philip and Gabi walk in as Bonnie tells him off and rushes out, leaving Justin to follow after. As Philip welcomes Gabi to the drama-filled mansion, she promises she’s not scared off.

By the time Johnny gets home, he’s all worked up. And he tells Chanel there’s no way he can go back to Titan. They screwed him over.

EJ plays with his ring as he demands to know if he can trust Theo with the secret. He may need to make a decision before Lexie opens her eyes. Him being CEO of DiMera when she wakes would be her worst nightmare. Wow. This is cold cold.
