Tate’s doing burpees in his dad’s apartment, and Rachel’s mystified by his bizarre behavior. Apparently it’s an endorphin study for school or something. Just admit you want muscles, Tate.

Rachel’s nervous about court today, so Tate breaks from the workout to offer some reassurance. He gives her something from his taekwondo teacher to hold onto when she’s scared, and Rachel, in turn, gives him the supplements Sophia sent. She claims she got them for Holly as thanks for being so nice to her.

Is Ari In Danger Now?

Ari’s working on a shirtless Liam’s wound in her dorm. “My roommate just moved out so you can stay here until that situation’s under control.” Um, Ari, all of Holly’s stuff is still there. According to the news, Klaus is dead, but Liam’s still worried.

What if he was mob connected? Whoever Klaus was working for still wants him dead. They freak out at a knock, but it’s just Tate. Ari shoves Liam offscreen and he vanishes. (Is he hiding in the closet? Put a lampshade on his head?)

Ari tells Tate Holly moved out and, when he spots Liam’s bloody bandage, makes up some excuse about a shaving accident, shoves Holly’s stuff into Tate’s hands and pushes him out the door. Liam pops back out from under the lampshade and Ari heads to class, telling him to stay and rest while she’s gone.

Is It Time for JJ to Quit?

JJ wakes up in Shawn’s room from a new nightmare about the shooting. Shawn’s awake, too, and he wants answers. Shawn understands freezing, but if JJ wasn’t ready to go back out, he shouldn’t have gone. Shawn had to kill someone because JJ couldn’t do his job. (This doesn’t bode well for JJ’s future.)

JJ more or less admits he can’t seem to figure out when to pull the trigger, but Jada saves him from more apologizing when she pops in to question Shawn. He tells her everything but about JJ freezing.

Jada and Belle Exchange Notes

At the police station, Belle tells Jada that Shawn just got out of surgery. They both agree the use of force was justified. Then Belle jumps straight to “What if Shawn starts drinking again,” which seems like a leap, but we’re sure Shawn would appreciate the lack of faith.

They wonder where Liam is and why he would run away. (Um, because his life was in danger?) But Jada does figure out that Klaus was tying up loose ends, most likely for Vivian. She fills Belle in on the ISA’s findings in Alamainia, Dimitri’s new suspected crime against Vivian and Leo’s impending return. Then Jada gets a text from the hospital that Shawn’s awake.

Sarah Reassures Holly

Sarah calls Hope, saying Shawn should make a full recovery. No need for Bo and Hope to come home! (Sigh, of course not.) Then Holly chats up her aunt after seeing her doctor. She’s going to try different birth control, since things got so bad.

Holly tells Sarah about the fight; She’s moving back into the mansion for now. Holly’s sure that Tate’s going to leave her sooner or later with all these meltdowns. She worries she’s like Xander, but Sarah shuts that down, then segues into talking about her latest Xander thawing. But she makes it clear that changing her mind about custody does not mean she’s changing her mind about marriage!

In the Show’s Final Moments

Belle heads into the hospital, only to learn Jada got there before her. Sarah barely gets a word in about Shawn needing help when he gets home before Belle leaps at moving in with him while he recovers. Because they’re at such a good, platonic place, of course. Mmhmm. Official duties over, Jada grabs Shawn’s hand and tells him how happy she is he’s OK.

Rachel calls Sophia to tell her Operation: Supplement Gift was a success. When Rachel mentions court, Sophia actually does something nice and tells the kid she’ll be alright.

Tate jogs up to Holly in the square with her stuff from Ari and Rachel’s gift. Holly doesn’t want to talk about it, so he pivots to the supplements, wondering if he should start taking them as he’s breaking out. Holly gives him the bottle. Well these two are going to be a barrel of monkeys…
