Victor Dupes Phyllis — and a Crushed Diane Leaves Jack

At the Club, Phyllis joins Cane at the bar and complains about him not coming through with Daniel.

Cane suggests Phyllis show her kids that she cares by giving back Newman. Everyone wins! She snarks, “Except me.” Ashby tries a different approach and declares that she owes him for chloroforming him and stealing from him. They shout/debate if Victor’s a true threat to his family. Cane walks out as she announces she’s done with him.

Cover Up

At Crimson Lights, Victoria is making plans for her arrival in Milan by phone when Nate strolls in. She explains her trip is back on and she’s taking matters into her own hands. Nate needs some answers of his own. Lily hasn’t been returning his text or calls. He’s ready to contact the police. Victoria’s sure this will all be over with soon. Nate asks if there’s something she’s not telling him.

Victoria tries to explain it away, but Nate shares that he and Devon suspect Victor is involved given Cane suddenly wants to return Newman. The Mustache denied it when they confronted him. Nate asks if she knows something as Cane arrives and questions if Victor is going to let his family go.

Nate bites Cane’s head off for knowing Victor had Lily and not telling him and Devon. Cane says he was working on fixing it. Victoria lies that she didn’t know, but Cane asks how she knew they’d be coming home. “I want details. Now.”

Nate, clueless, stops Cane from badgering Victoria, who suddenly has to catch her flight. After she leaves, Ashby fumes, “Are you really going to let her off the hook like that?!” Nate lashes out at Cane, and informs him that the only person to blame for this mess is himself.

To the Curb

At the ranch, Nikki informs Victor that she won’t be ordered out of her own home. Victor bellows that he rebuilt the house and no one, including her, will stand in his way! He tells her if she won’t rebuild the empire with him, she can get out.

He suggests she go get back with Jack… she cares more about him than her own husband! Nikki fumes that he’s being ridiculous. She cares about Jack because he’s one of her oldest and dearest friends. Victor’s sick of hearing this, but she points out she’s stood by Victor for years. He’s blinded by jealousy. Victor hollers, “Be gone!” He doesn’t need her. Nikki trots off to pack.

Aftermath

On the yacht, Diane has just smacked Jack, who says he’s sorry. She sobs, “Is that supposed to make me feel better?” Jack is mortified and wants to explain. She doesn’t see how he could.

Jack tells Diane he was trying to placate Patty, who offered him scotch. He’s convinced she spiked it with drugs that made him totally euphoric. She was as high as he was and there were no limits. Diane cringes, “Stop!” She isn’t buying that a drug made him forget about her and their marriage. She can’t even look at him and slams out of the room.

In the hallway, Diane rants to Kyle about his father crawling into bed with that nasty skank. She wants to go home. Kyle gently reminds her they have to bring Jack with them.

Meanwhile, Jack tells Billy he was drugged. Billy reports that Patty’s locked herself in a stateroom. Jack’s convinced Victor is behind this and will see to it that he pays with flesh and blood if it’s the last thing he does.

Billy assures Jack he won’t be alone in this as Kyle says it’s time to go. Billy will get Patty off the boat first and come back for them. Jack asks his son not to lecture him. Kyle won’t say a word… for now.

New Digs

Nikki arrives at the Club, where she’s presumably going to camp out, and spots Phyllis. She confronts her about stealing her daughter’s legacy. Red says Summer will be just fine and questions what she’s doing there.

Phyllis correctly guesses that she and Victor got into it over Jack and he threw her out on her ass. Nikki warns that when she crashes and burns, no one will care. Phyllis steps away to take a call… it’s Victor summoning her to the ranch.

Claire arrives as Phyllis exits and asks her grandmother if she’s OK. Nikki says no, she’s not. They sit, and Nikki tells her granddaughter she left… she couldn’t take it anymore.

Duped

Phyllis joins Victor at the ranch and notes she ran into Nikki at the Club. He won’t discuss Nikki or Jack. Is she there to make a deal or flap her gums? Phyllis laughs and asks for his offer. He says, “Jack Abbott for Chancellor.” She muses that he wanted everything before. What changed his mind?

After some back and forth, Phyllis agrees to the deal. Victor will have his lawyer send over the contracts. Phyllis needs proof that Jack’s been released. He’s says it’s done. She tells him she played his game and won. She’s a player on his level.

The Final Scenes

Cane tells Nate that he accepts that this is his doing. He can’t sleep at night worrying about Lily and his kids, wondering where they are. Nate suggests he trust Victoria’s word that they’ll be home soon… and he hopes it’s a massive wake-up call for him. Ashby vows, “Everything changes now.”

At the Club, Claire can’t believe Victor let Nikki leave (if she only knew). Nikki vents about him going too far.

At the ranch, Victor tells Phyllis she’s delusional to think she’s on a level playing field with him. She insists she beat him. Plus, she did the noble thing by saving Jack Abbott. Victor asks her to show herself out. Once alone, he looks at a photo of Nikki.

At the Abbott manse, Diane goes straight upstairs. Billy hopes Jack and Diane can fix this and tells his brother he loves him. Jack raises his glass. When Billy leaves, Kyle pours a drink and sits with his dad in the dining room. Diane comes downstairs with a bag and leaves.
