Days of Our Lives’ Rachel Is About to Do the Ultimate About-Face: Will She Leave Behind Her Wicked Ways?

Rachel’s next saga on Days of Our Lives is about to begin — and we don’t mean because Kristen’s yanked her out of Bayview! The show has shared that actress Lorelei Mote will be taking over the role from Alice Halsey, and she’ll be airing on Tuesday, March 17th! This will be Mote’s first soap, but she’s a vet of TV and movies, from American Horror Stories to The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

Halsey stepped in just under a year ago, having taken over from Finley Rose Slater, who’d played Brady and Kristen’s troubled daughter since 2021. And a lot has happened in the past year, from John’s death, to EJ’s shooting and all the fallout that came with it.
Now, she’s been pulled from her treatment at Bayview by Kristen, more than likely before she was ready! Worse, Kristen’s attempts to keep Rachel away from Sophia have failed miserably, as the teen’s roped Rachel into her revenge scheme against Holly.
As she left to star in the new Little House on the Prairie, Halsey said farewell last week in an Instagram post, writing, “After shooting 56 episodes of Days of Our Lives in nine months, it was not easy to say goodbye to my friends in the cast and crew who had become like family. I will be forever grateful for the privilege to play such a fascinating, complicated character and to be a part of this epic story.”
Complicated is probably an understatement, which means Mote is going to have one heck of a blast in the new role as she navigates her parents living together, Sophia’s demands and her own scheming tendencies. Is this next chapter in Rachel’s life a chance to set her on the straight and narrow for real, or is she just going to fall back to her old ways?
We’ve got a feeling that Sophia’s scheme may be the last straw if Rachel realizes how much Holly’s getting hurt. Because while the precocious kid’s been quick to lash out at people around her, she’s been feeling more and more remorse over the pain she’s caused! This could be the tipping point for her to get better — but time will tell!
