As the episode begins, Ridge and Brooke are still freaking out about Katie and Bill’s announcement that they’ll be using Eric’s designs to launch Logan. At Forrester, R.J. happens upon “the man, the myth, the legend” — his grandpa Eric. At Il Giardino, Will is asking Deke why Dylan is at Forrester, and the waiter is speculating as best he can. Finally, Steffy is still offering to hire Dylan. Needless to say, she accepts. And from the sounds of it, Hayes was the reference who really tipped the scales in her favor.

At Last! The Truth About Dylan Is Revealed

At Il Giardino, Will defends Dylan, saying what happened between him and Electra isn’t on her. When Deke asks if there is any update on “Wilectra,” Will shuts him right down. When he returns to the beach house, he calls out for Dylan. But no, she’s still at FC. There, she assures Steffy that she and Finn aren’t to blame at all for the fate she suffered at Luna’s hand.

For her part, Steffy isn’t worried about any tension between Electra and Dylan. “I don’t want to hear it,” the co-CEO says as if everyone at that company isn’t always in each other’s business. By and by, Dylan explains that her first name is actually Melissa, and her parents always called her Miss — so her full name is Melissa Dylan!

The newbie does have one big worry, though: She doesn’t have anything nice enough to wear to such a fancy workplace. Don’t stress, Steffy says. Dylan works at a fashion house now, she’ll be rolling in couture.

Tensions Flare at the ‘Worst Dinner Party Ever’

Across the hall, Eric and R.J. catch up, with the older man insisting that he and Ridge have worked out their differences. At that very moment, “Bridge” and “Batie’s” argument is intensifying, with Bill reminding Ridge that Eric never would have come to Logan in the first place if he hadn’t been forced out of Forrester by his own son.  The poor caterer is so flustered, she can’t even clear the table.

Once the caterer is sent home — and how funny was that bit! — the yelling only gets louder. So Katie suggests Ridge and Bill take a walk so that she can speak privately with Brooke. Outside, the men continue to grumble. Ridge doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of a work-for-hire, and Bill refuses to be cast as the bad guy in the Eric situation.

Back inside, Katie doesn’t want to talk to Brooke so much as she wants to shout at her (and vice-versa). Brooke can’t help being catty. “You barely even have a company,” she cracks before offering to buy Eric’s designs. Once again, Katie recaps why Eric wound up working with her. So Brooke tells her the fashion biz will never see her the same way again if she exploits this “sensitive family matter.”

Katie Vows to Launch Logan With Eric’s Designs

As Eric and R.J.’s chat continues, the youngster says that his Pop Pop is half the reason he returned to L.A. He’s eager to work with Forrester’s founder again. As for Eric, he’s eager to finish his career where he started it — “at my company.”

In the episode’s final moments, Dylan returns to the beach house, where Will, fresh from a swim, asks what she was up to at FC. Delightedly, she informs him that she’s moving on up — she’s got a new job!

More: B&B fans want *this* to stop

Back at Brooke’s, Ridge accuses Bill of dirty dealing with Eric, while Katie says that Brooke doesn’t see her, hear her or value her. (It’s all very Jan and Marcia Brady!) Katie breaks down about her shy past and the fact that she’d retreat into a book because their family was broken after Stephen deserted them. Katie hasn’t even been sure over the years whether Brooke cared about her. Now Katie kinda thinks the only person Brooke cares about is herself.

That being the case, “I’m done,” Katie eventually declares. “I’m running with Eric’s designs, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”
