Well, Lexie’s resurrection may not have entirely been a surprise on Days of Our Lives, but what EJ just revealed on Monday in talking to Gwen certainly was! After the Stefano wannabe told Gwen about Paulina, EJ assured his partner that their work would continue. No matter what. And that would be true even if Paulina ratted them out and they had to abandon Lexie to die.

It was chilling, but in the moment EJ revealed that Lexie wasn’t the only “subject.” He and Gwen apparently have even more people on ice. But who?

The Sister Everyone Wants Back

Our first guess, of course, would be Abigail! If Gwen and EJ are going to stay on theme here, they both had dead sisters who could be brought back. We could see EJ being more eager to bring Lexie back, but that doesn’t mean Gwen would ignore her own sister if she had the chance.

After all, what better way to make right and win her way into the family than by bringing their beloved Abigail back to life? And since Abby’s body has been missing for ages, she seems the likeliest culprit.

Clyde may not have been the one to make her disappear from the coffin. That could have been Dr. Rolf, putting her on ice, just like he does with everyone else. Plus, if Chad comes back and does make a go of things with Cat, EJ could view Abigail as a worthy distraction so Chad stays away from the woman he’s becoming smitten with.

A House of DiMera Resurrection

Of course, we can’t limit things to just sisters as there is always the elephant in the room. Or rather, the Phoenix in the room. And yes, we mean Stefano. But if his remains really were cremated then, well, bringing him back to life in this way gets a lot more questionable. If there’s no body to bring back, then there’s no subject to resurrect.

There’s Jake, though we’d be hard pressed to see his resurrection as anything but EJ using him as a lab rat. If he’s being as cold as he is now about the prospect of losing the sister he actually loved, we wouldn’t have hope for his reasons to toy with Jake’s life. Gwen, though, might want him back. Though unless the treatment can grow a new heart… that might be tricky.

Then there’s Stefan, who’d probably be easier to bring back if the treatment could ensure his heart worked smoothly. But we don’t really believe he’s dead because everything about Vivian’s claims just screams: “Liar!”
