Well, there we have it, folks. In one episode, Days of Our Lives let us now that the person in the pod returning to us shortly is not Stefano, but likely is someone near and dear to him! Stefano’s body, we finally learned definitively, is too far gone even for Rolf’s science — namely because the bones found buried in the crypt were his! Rafe spent Tuesday’s episode filling the DiMeras in on that fact, and EJ raced straight to Dr. Rolf to find out how they ended up there.

That’s a mystery even Rolf couldn’t solve, but yes, he told EJ, Stefano was completely and utterly dead, beyond even his ability to bring him back. But then Rolf turned to the matter at hand that he and EJ had been working on: The resurrection of the person in the green tube. With his rat experiments a success, he told EJ that he’s very optimistic that “she will open her eyes again soon.”

And that just about cinched our biggest suspicion: EJ’s bringing Lexie back!

Why Do We Think Lexie Is Returning?

This idea all started after Days of Our Lives‘ big winter preview when we saw EJ showing Paulina, of all people, who was in the cryogenic chamber. That seemed completely random until we got our next clue on Thanksgiving. That’s when EJ spent the holiday with the person in the tube who was, he hinted, the closest he had to a loved one for the big day.

And then there was the 2026 preview for Days of Our Lives where we learned that Abe and Paulina will soon hit “an unexpected obstacle.” And “Theo’s life is about to be turned upside down.” Put it all together, and there’s just about no one else it could be.

If Lexie comes back, she probably wouldn’t be too happy learning that Theo had taken over as CEO of her family’s company. That could keep him out of the top seat, which would give EJ’s own son, Johnny, the chance to hold onto it. Estranged or not, that’s something EJ would love to see.

On top of all that, Abe did ask his former brother-in-law to help get Theo out of DiMera months ago, and EJ promised he would. And if he can bring a lost sibling back and make a boatload of cash at the same time? There’s no way EJ would pass that up.

Though we have a feeling Abe might be a bit more conflicted when he learns what’s actually going on — not to mention Paulina and Theo!
