Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) doesn’t seem to be getting any good therapeutic outcome from her time in Bayview. She is ready to fly the Cuckoo’s Nest, and we know she’ll get out soon, one way or another.
So, what will Sophia do then? I can’t wait to see what Tate Black‘s (Leo Howard) ex, Sophia, has up her sleeve next. She already has young Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) assisting in her dirty work, and Sophia just texted Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) to come see her ASAP.
Sophia Choi Fakes Her Condition and Attacks Holly Jonas
This past week, Sophia shocked her therapist, Dr. Gregory, when she lunged at Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and tried to slap her former best friend. However, Dr. Gregory intervened and stopped Sophia right in her tracks. She then apologized to Holly for this visit turning violent.
The bottom line is Dr. Gregory had no idea Sophia was going to lash out in such a violent way when the doctor asked Holly to come and visit. Dr. Gregory was hoping that Holly’s visit would help Sophia snap out of her catatonic state.
To be fair, she wasn’t catatonic when Holly was there. She tried to assault her. But little does Dr. Gregory know, Sophia has been faking being mute since right after she arrived at Bayview late last year. The only person who knows that she can talk now and is basically 100% fine is Rachel.
Rachel Black’s Risky Alliance and the Library Lie
We saw Sophia admit that her collapse at the Brady Pub was real, but then she recovered quickly and has been faking ever since. In fact, Rachel has lied and covered for Sophia to hide the fact that she can talk. She’s done it to a lot of people.
Rachel even lied and said she ate notes from Sophia to throw her parents and Dr. Gregory off track, and then she actually did eat something. Then, Sophia had Rachel steal money from her rich dad, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), so she could break out and buy a cell phone.
Days of Our Lives: Rachel and Sophia Separated?
At first, Rachel resisted, but Sophia basically gaslit her into stealing the cash from her dad. Of course, Brady had no idea his money was missing until later when he tried to order a pizza for him and Tate. As if Brady doesn’t have a credit card! What rich person pays cash for pizza these days?
Anyway, that aside, Dr. Gregory told Brady that she does not want Rachel hanging around Sophia, and he agreed. Rachel is 10 and Sophia is 18. Both Rachel and Sophia are upset about the banner on them being friends, but it makes sense. The night nurse caught Rachel hiding in Sophia’s bed during a bed check to help her sneak out.
Rachel has done it before when Sophia snuck out to get them both bags of Buddy Burgers. But when Sophia snuck out to get the phone, that’s when Rachel got busted. She then started lying to everybody, saying that she helped Sophia so that the older girl could go to the Salem Public Library to study. The good old library lie—have we all told that one?
Using Rachel’s Sabotage Tactics to Target Tate and Holly
Nobody but Rachel knows what Sophia was really up to when she broke out. She showed back up and it kind of got brushed under the rug because she didn’t go missing permanently. This was all thanks to Rachel’s fast thinking and the whole bunch of lies she told.
She is Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) daughter, so she does know how to tell a lie. I don’t think that Sophia is done being a bad influence on Rachel at this point. I do feel better for Rachel; even though the tween can be rotten to the core, she has no idea Sophia is not really her friend and is just using her.
Rachel doesn’t really have many friends in real life because she’s so off-putting outside of Bayview. The kids at school are all scared of her. Obviously, she’s taking risks to impress Sophia because Rachel really wants and needs a friend.
But Sophia is not a good friend. She’s not a friend at all. I believe that Sophia could use Rachel’s wicked breakup tactics to try and get her brother, Tate, to split from Holly. That’s something Sophia might do next because Rachel has broken up tons of Brady Black’s relationships.
Sophia has tried repeatedly to get Tate to like her. She thought she really had her hooks into Tate with the pregnancy thing until the whole adoption debacle fell apart. But let’s be real, Sophia Choi is not going to stop. She still wants Tate no matter what she has to do to make that happen.
Days of Our Lives 2026 Spoilers: Revenge and Sorority Drama
We could see all kinds of crazy stuff going on as February Sweeps kicks off Thursday, January 29th, and runs through the next four weeks. I expect a whole lot out of her. 2026 Days of Our Lives spoilers tell us nothing good comes from Sophia and Rachel’s friendship.
Plus, Sophia still has Holly in her crosshairs, as was very evident when Dr. Gregory brought Holly in to visit. The same winter spoilers say that once Sophia is on the loose, Tate is on her radar, as is revenge on Holly.
We’ve also seen Tate upset with Holly in the long winter extended promo. Both Tate and Ariana Horton (Sydney Brower) are soon going to have issues with Holly. This could be about her telling Ariana that she wants to rush a sorority. The girls on Greek Row may encourage Holly to be a jerk to her boyfriend and best friend if they don’t think they’re cool enough.
This is a good place for Sophia to slide in when there’s tension again between Tate and Holly. We have seen Sophia do this in the past. It goes without saying that Holly needs to watch her back because Sophia can sneak out of Bayview anytime she wants.
Days of our Lives: A Dangerous Obsession – Will Sophia Pull a Jan Spears Kidnapping Plot?
Ariana tried to tell Holly she saw Sophia walking around Horton Square, but Holly didn’t believe her because she had just come from that encounter at Bayview. She said, “No, no, she’s at Bayview,” as if Ari doesn’t know what she saw.
Plus, we know Sophia has already gone to extremes to hurt Holly. If you remember the spiked drink, those dirty texts to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) to set him up on suspicion of sleeping with a student, and then the dorm room fire. We know what Sophia is capable of.
Tate needs to wake up and be watching his back and his every move. Sophia may pull a stunt like Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) did and kidnap Tate because she’s obsessed with him. If you remember, Jan did this years ago with Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer). Jan made him wear tight baseball pants and she kept him in a cage.
I still wonder if that’s where Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) got the idea to put Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) in a cage. It’s been a minute since we’ve had a cage kidnapping, and I feel like we’re overdue. Sophia is psycho enough to do something like that, so Tate needs to be real careful.
Melinda Trask and the Vendetta Against Johnny and Chanel Dupree on Days of Our Lives
Don’t forget, Sophia sent a text to her sketchy lawyer, Melinda Trask. Who knows what she wants the lawyer to do? Sophia may want Melinda to find a way to get her out of Bayview while avoiding prison.
If Sophia is on the loose legally, things could get really scary really fast because the police wouldn’t even be looking for her. We all know she plans to get little Trey away from his adoptive parents, Johnny DiMera and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens).
Sophia still blames Johnny’s hesitation on the adoption for why she had to do all the sketchy fraud stuff and the fake pregnancy. I’m sure Sophia is also mad that her plan to get Johnny fired over diddling a student didn’t work out either.
Once Sophia is on the loose, whether Melinda helps her or she does a full “Cuckoo’s Nest” breakout, we know that Johnny, Tate, and Holly better all watch out because Sophia is coming for all of them.
