The Prodigal Son Returns: Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Bold & Beautiful’s R.J. Forrester Ahead of His Homecoming

R.J. Forrester is no stranger to viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful, having first appeared on the show in 2007. However, come the week of January 12, the legacy character will return to our screens with a new face. It wasn’t long ago when we reported that the role had been recast and that Joshua Hoffman would no longer be playing Ridge and Brooke’s son. (The character had been MIA since October of 2024.)
So, who’s stepping into the part this time? Newcomer Brayan Nicoletti will walk onto the scene (first-look photos here) and R.J. is sure to make a lot of people happy with his return, most notably his parents. However, where he’ll fit into the mix this time around, well, we’ll have to stay tuned right along with you to see.

R.J. Was Once Forrester Creations’ Golden Boy
For those who need a refresher, Hoffman’s R.J., who was previously played by Love, Victor’s Anthony Turpel, returned to Los Angeles during the summer of 2023. It wasn’t long before he fell into the family business of designing, lending granddad Eric a literal hand with his sketches during a health crisis.

R.J. carried on another family tradition, too: drama. No sooner had he started dating Luna Nozawa than cousin Zende started macking on her. One fateful night, it appeared that Luna had partaken of her mom’s “special mints” and landed in the sack with Zende. At that point, the fellas went so far as to come to blows.
But all was not as it seemed. Not even close.

It turned out that Luna had more than a few screws loose and was playing both guys. She’d deliberately orchestrated her hookup with Zende (and would later call it the best sex of her life; how is this guy still single?). As Luna went completely off the rails — she kidnapped R.J.’s stepsister Steffy, murdered half of Il Giardino’s staff and tried to pass of Bill Spencer as her Daddy Warbucks — R.J. was pushed further and further to the backburner.

Eventually, the legacy character got too close to the edge and altogether fell off the stove! However, it would appear that he’s coming back to some juicy story. In his absence, the show has beefed up its younger set, positioning Electra Forrester and Will Spencer as sorta a new Hope Logan and Liam Spencer — with Dylan no-last-name playing the role of spoiler.
Something tells us that one of the two young ladies will catch R.J.’s eye, and he’ll soon find himself enmeshed in a love quadrangle that calls to mind Wyatt/Steffy/Liam/Hope.
