Johnny and Xander meet in the Pub over the dueling CEOships. If Johnny’s staying longer at DiMera, he might not have a job to come back to at Titan. This is all highly unusual. (Yeah, most companies don’t swap out CEOs every other week.)

Xander drew up an addendum that prohibits Johnny from sharing proprietary Titan info with DiMera, which, why would they not do that to begin with?? In the process of getting the papers, Xander “accidentally” lets Bonnie’s manuscript fall out. Oh, that? Xander has no interest in it. He leaves the table to “take a call” and Johnny goes right for the bait, flipping through Bonnie’s book for some reason.

Is Chanel’s Baby OK?

Paulina drops by to see Trey and Chanel jumps right into the pregnancy news. Paulina, unlike Johnny, is (warily) thrilled, and Chanel makes it clear that whatever he thinks, she’s having the baby if it’s viable. Johnny shows up to awkwardness all around and it takes about 20 seconds for Chanel to double over in pain.

They rush to the hospital, where Johnny blames himself for upsetting her. Inside, Sarah kind of agrees. The baby’s fine, but maybe tone the stress down.

Are Sarah and Brady a Couple?

Brady and Sarah play dumb on the making out when Maggie asks how their New Year’s Eve was. “It was… nice.” The good cheer evaporates when Brady gets a text about a meeting at Bayview the same time as a shareholder meeting. He figures Xander’s gonna be ticked, especially with him and Sarah. Yup.

Maggie assures Brady she’ll handle it, then, after she leaves, Sarah gets a text that her divorce is officially official!

Does Dimitri Have the Upper Hand?

Dimitri and Gwen start the morning with a few swipes at each other, like any good DiMera would. Dimitri says that since Gwen is under investigation in Alamainia for his kidnapping, he can freeze her accounts pending the outcome, and doesn’t need to wait for the divorce.

Since Gwen is, she insists, innocent, she’ll contest his divorce and take him for everything. Dimitri counters with his own offer: He’ll take her for everything and make her pay back what she already spent with interest. Tempting.

She makes a dig about him being worried more about money than his supposed love and his massive ego assuming Leo will come to him.

Is Javi Pushing Leo Away?

Javi’s morosely stirring his Chex, when Leo shows up, interrupting his pity party. He glares at Leo, as if this is all his fault, but Leo flat out tells Javi that he’s the only man for him. Javi ignores him.

Whatever Leo thinks, he needs to go see Dimitri and resolve his feelings. Leo promises they’re resolved, but Javi insists on telling Leo how he feels. Come. On. Their relationship ended on a lie, so Leo has to find out if there’s still love. Fine. Leo leaves, but promises he’ll be back to prove he only loves Javi.

Xander’s Done With Brady

Maggie gets into the office just as Xander gets his divorce papers. He snaps at her, then apologizes, and it doesn’t help when she tells him about Brady not making the meeting.
When Brady drops in, Xander refocuses his anger on him: Do better, or they’re shutting Basic Black down. “Is this tantrum of yours about my job performance,” Brady ventures, “or is this possibly about me and Sarah?”

In the Show’s Final Moments

Leo arrives at the DiMera front door as Gwen’s heading out and Dimitri is thrilled to see him. He knew he’d come. Because of that “zip code” sized ego Gwen mentioned he had. Leo just wants to say he’s sorry about what happened… and that he’s done. He loves Javi and — Dimitri throws himself on Leo with a kiss. Sigh.

Johnny rushes into the exam room, happy Chanel’s OK and gets an ice cold reception in return. Sarah tries cutting the tension by explaining all the risks to both of them, but Chanel declares that if her pregnancy is viable, she is having this baby. Period.
