General Hospital suggests Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) is all in on this baby thing with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). Remember, he’s no fan of Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) or Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), for that matter.
So, is Isaiah going to take steps to make sure that he is the proud papa of Portia’s unborn baby?
Portia’s Secret Pregnancy Plan Unraveled by Jordan on General Hospital
Portia’s initial plan was to keep her pregnancy a secret from everybody until she was out of the first trimester and could get a DNA test. But Jordan, as usual, had to get all up in Portia’s business. Jordan isn’t sleeping with Curtis yet, but those two, let’s be real, have been in an emotional affair for quite some time, even while Portia was still with Curtis.
Jordan running her mouth to Curtis with no proof screwed up Portia’s plan to get the info she needed before she revealed her pregnancy. Last week, Isaiah found out Portia is pregnant after she collapsed. And Isaiah also found out he might be the father. By the way, soap social media is loving how Isaiah and Portia handled the reveal and how honestly they communicated with each other.
A History of Paternity Lies and Hypocrisy on GH
Isaiah asked Portia if she would have told him the truth, no matter what the DNA test said. She said, “Of course, yes.” Then she told Isaiah she made the mistake before of lying about paternity and wouldn’t do it again. If you recall, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) grew up thinking Taggert (Réal Andrews) was her dad because Portia cheated with Curtis back in the day and then lied about Trina’s paternity.
If you recall, Jordan was all up in that mess, too, threatening Portia to force the secret out into the open, which was pretty hypocritical because Jordan lied about her son TJ Ashford‘s (Tajh Bellow) paternity. She let Curtis’ brother think he was TJ’s dad, but it was really Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore).
Potential Paternity Test Tampering on General Hospital: Who Are the Suspects?
So, here’s my question. Will Portia’s paternity test wind up tampered? And if so, by whom? Isaiah does not like Curtis, and Isaiah seems to be falling for Portia. He’s calling that cabin “ours.” There are a lot of signs that he’s very serious. I could see Isaiah peeping the lab results before Portia does, and maybe he changes them, thinking it’s better for Portia if he’s the dad so she can cut ties with Curtis. Plus, Isaiah would love to be the father of her baby on General Hospital.
But there’s somebody else who might try and rig the test. We know Jordan wants to be with Curtis, and she doesn’t think that Portia is good enough for him. So, I could see a world where Jordan finds a way to tamper with the test if she finds out there’s another man in the mix. Now, if she doesn’t know that, there’s no reason for her to tamper.
Could Trina and Joss Intervene for Family Unity?
Let’s not forget Trina either. She doesn’t want her parents to split up and she despises Jordan. So if Trina finds out her mom’s seeing Isaiah and he might be the dad, she might find a way to tamper with the test, thinking that having a baby together would reunite her parents.
If Trina told Josslyn Jacks about her dilemma and how badly she wants her parents to stay together, Joss could use her super WSB spy skills to sneak into the lab and alter the results to help Trina but then keep it to herself. That would be a move straight out of her mom, Carly Corinthos Spencer’s (Laura Wright), playbook.
Would Portia Herself Manipulate the Results to Keep Jordan Away?
Last but not least, there is a chance that Portia herself could tamper with the paternity test. I know she told Isaiah that she learned her lesson, but has she really? Or could something change Portia’s mind and she decides that Isaiah is the better choice to be the dad? I do think Portia right now intends to be above board about this. But if the test says Curtis is the dad, she might change her mind.
Then, she might change the test, especially if Trina tells her she saw Curtis with Jordan on Thanksgiving. I know Portia is already involved with Isaiah, but hearing about the kiss would just remind Portia that if she and Curtis have a baby and he’s with Jordan, then the woman that Portia hates will be helping to raise her kid. Portia might alter the results, not so much to keep Curtis out of the kid’s life, but to keep Jordan out. Me, I’m rooting for an Isaiah baby, but I love me some Curtis. So, we’ll see how it goes.
