BREAKING UPDATE: Dr. Jen Arnold’s (Little Couple) condition after major surgery.
Health Update on “Little Couple’s” Dr. Jen Arnold: A Resilient Journey After Complex Hip Surgery

Dr. Jen Arnold, star of the reality TV show “The Little Couple” and a neonatologist at Boston Children’s Hospital, continues to be an inspiration to millions. She recently shared her recovery journey after one of the biggest health challenges she has faced.
Fans have followed Dr. Jen Arnold (known on Instagram as @jenarnoldmd) for years, watching her life with her husband, Bill Klein, and their two children, Will and Zoey. Viewers have seen not only heartwarming family moments but also her relentless health battles.
The Latest Challenge: A Complex Hip Revision Surgery
Despite undergoing more than 30 surgeries in her lifetime due to skeletal dysplasia (a form of dwarfism), Dr. Jen Arnold recently faced one of her most complex operations: a hip revision surgery in late 2023.
In social media posts, Dr. Jen described it as a “major surgery” and the recovery as “really tough.” This was not a routine procedure but a major operation to repair and replace a previous hip implant that had malfunctioned.
The recovery process required her to use a wheelchair and crutches for an extended period, along with daily intensive physical therapy. She has been very transparent about her ups and downs, sharing both the pain and the small victories, like being able to stand or walk unassisted.
From Cancer Warrior to Recovery Icon
This is not the first time Dr. Jen Arnold has faced a life-threatening challenge. In 2013, she courageously fought and beat choriocarcinoma, a rare cancer, following a pregnancy loss.
The same resilient spirit from her battle with cancer seems to be applied to her hip surgery recovery. “Every surgery is different,” she once shared, but emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and focusing on recovery goals.
Current Life: Balancing Work and Health
Currently (as of late 2025), Dr. Jen Arnold and her family are settled in Boston after she accepted the role of Program Director for the Simulation Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and a faculty position at Harvard Medical School.
Despite managing chronic health issues, she continues her demanding work as a neonatologist while actively sharing her life to raise awareness for people with disabilities and medical challenges.
Updates on her Instagram (@jenarnoldmd) show her gradually returning to normal activities, enjoying time with her family, and continuing her meaningful work. Although the recovery from her hip surgery is ongoing, Dr. Jen Arnold once again proves that the power of will and perseverance can overcome any obstacle.
