EJ DiMera’s Past Crime Resurfaces On Days Of Our Lives
James Scott took over the role of EJ DiMera in 2006 from the child actors who played the character. As the son of Stefano DiMera and Susan Banks, EJ was destined for trouble. In the early 2000s, EJ found himself attracted to Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney.) But Sami was torn between EJ and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo.)
In 2006, EJ decided to take his attraction to Sami to the next level by forcing him to have s*x with her so that he would save an injured Lucas’s life. Sami ended up pregnant with twins, one fathered by EJ and one by Lucas. Sami and EJ’s son Johnny (Carson Boatman) recently found out the truth about the rape.
He confronted his father but Johnny isn’t the only one with a vendetta against EJ. A preview clip for this week showed EJ getting shot and then several Salem residents holding guns.
Alison Sweeney returns as Sami later this summer but the show hasn’t revealed if her return will be part of Drake Hogestyn’s send-off or the EJ storyline.
Multiple Suspects In ‘Who Shot EJ?’ Storyline
EJ DiMera isn’t popular in Salem at the moment. Kate (Lauren Koslow,) Johnny (Carson Boatman,) Ava (Tamara Braun,) Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Roman (Josh Taylor) are the top suspects in shooting EJ. They had all had their reasons for wanting EJ dead.
Ava’s position on the suspect list in question after the actress revealed she was leaving the show. On one hand, it seems unlikely the show would give away the culprit so soon. On the other hand, Ava could leave Salem to go to jail for the crime.
Fans Think It Will Be Young Rachel Black
Fans suspect that the characters holding guns were red herrings for the true shooter: Rachel Black. The daughter of Kristen DiMera and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) is known for her past bad behavior. Despite her young age, Rachel has gotten into her share of trouble.
The character will return to Salem later this month with a new face. According to TV Line, Alice Halsey is replacing Finley Rose Slater in the role. Interesting time to bring the character back.
But why would the young girl shoot EJ? One fan speculated, “Little Rachel found out EJ kidnapped her grandma, got angry and shot him.”
A lot of other Days Of Our Lives fans agree with the theory that Rachel is the shooter.
- “I agree it’s going to be Rachel. EJ was eye level with the shooter while sitting down, and his tone was irritated but not aggressive.”
- “I agree and furthermore I think they’re gonna recycle the plot from the last time EJ was shot and Brady or Kristen is gonna take the fall for her just like Lucas did back when young Will shot him in 2007ish.”
- “I don’t necessarily disagree that this will likely end up being where they are headed, but man it would be interesting to have it be Roman and give his character some meat after being just decor for the last few years.”
