Marlena Takes Orpheus Down, But It May Already Be too Late — Plus, Jada and Rafe Enact Plans Against EJ
Today on Days of Our Lives, Marlena faces off against Orpheus, Belle and Rafe both try recording EJ and Steve finds a body!

In Tallinn, Marlena fills Belle in on their progress with John (and this time, we see Belle’s half of the conversation!), but as soon as she hangs up, Orpheus sneaks in behind her. Marlena turns around shocked. She demands to know why he isn’t in prison.
“They haven’t built a prison that can hold me. For long, anyway.” He’s got too many important things to do, which prompts Marlena to mention the nuclear device for sale. Orpheus is happy she knows what’s happening, so he can get right to getting rid of her and John for good.

Marlena realizes Orpheus is why John was sent there, and the villain, in turn, says he knows where John is. He infiltrated Orpheus’ facility, but he caught on. Marlena demands to know where John is, but he just says she should probably worry more about herself. And pulls a gun on Marlena.
She tries pumping him for more information, but Orpheus just tells her he’s tired of her and John messing with him. He gets ready to pull the trigger, Marlena grabs a suitcase, blocks his shot and smacks him with it.
Steve Gets to Work
Steve digs through a file at the secret facility and sees a picture of Orpheus. “Of course. I should have known.” Andrew and Paul join him after taking care of the guards and he shows them the file of “the mastermind of the whole operation.”

No one’s surprised, prison or no, as it makes sense why John was roped into this. Steve mentions notes in the file about someone infiltrating the organization, and thinks John’s somewhere in this facility. He and Paul will find him, though. This isn’t official ISA business, so Andrew can’t risk his job to help.
Paul agrees and Steve sends a reluctant Andrew back to check on Marlena. They split up.
Marlena Is Determined to Save John
Andrew gets back to the room, knocks on the door and is about to tell Marlena who’s behind all this. She knows. She opens the door and reveals an unconscious, tied up Orpheus. She casually mentions she subdued him, while Andrew lets her know that Steve and Paul are searching the facility for John.
Andrew’s going to take Orpheus in and Marlena insists she’s going to the facility. Not safe, she scoffs? Whatever, she took care of Orpheus. Andrew threatens to arrest her, rather than let her go, but she calls his bluff and asks how to get to the facility.
Jada Convinces Belle to Take EJ Down
Jada asks Shawn for a file at the Salem PD and he congratulates her on her reinstatement. He’s been trying to keep his distance after… what happened. Jada tells him they’re still friends and they agree there’s no problem — though Rafe doesn’t know and never will. It would just hurt him. Though Jada may have good news on the Rafe/EJ front, because she’s got “one hail Mary left to try.”

Belle, meanwhile, gets a text from EJ saying, “I miss you…” which she just looks annoyed at. Jada shows up at her door asking for help to nail EJ once and for all. As Belle says, the “whole town” wants to see him pay for his crimes. But she can’t help Jada — she had to recuse herself because of Jada telling everyone about it.
Belle gets it, EJ messed with her and Rafe’s lives, but she still can’t help. Jada thinks she can. By wearing a wire. Belle insists her and EJ’s relationship is over, but Jada thinks she could convince EJ she changed her mind. Belle glances at her phone. “Tch. Maybe. It’s possible.”
Jada gives a passionate speech about justice and rule of law and Belle agrees to do whatever it takes to “put that son of a bitch behind bars.”
Rafe Plants a Bug
Rafe reads through the DiMera article in The Spectator, vowing that EJ won’t get away with any of this. Back at the mansion, EJ sits waiting for Belle’s response, while behind him, Rafe sneaks in through the secret door. He waits until EJ leaves the room, sneaks over to a statue, and plants a mic.

He makes a few snide comments to Stefano’s portrait, but before Rafe can slip back out, EJ finds him. Rafe claims he came to see Johnny, and manages to distract EJ by twisting the knife about losing his son and Belle. He tries maneuvering EJ into talking about all his secrets, and talking to Marlena about it.
EJ wonders what Rafe’s pushing at, and shrugs off that he has nothing to feel guilty about or confess. But since Johnny’s not there, they’re done. Rafe leaves and EJ’s calm demeanor drops, looking mildly panicked.
Shawn Opens Up to JJ About Jada
Shawn heads into the interrogation room to talk with JJ about the stolen necklace and Doug case. JJ’s not sure Julie’s pressing charges, though. Shawn makes a veiled comment about crooks getting away with crimes, and JJ immediately realizes he’s talking about EJ. Luckily, Jada’s got a plan.
JJ takes the chance to ask how things are with Shawn and Jada, and he’s told about their conversation earlier, noting that Rafe doesn’t and won’t know about them. Everything about this sucks, but when JJ flat out asks Shawn if he has feelings for their boss, he dodges the question saying they’re friends.
He’s saved by the bell — or should that be Belle — when Jada and the DA show up. Jada fills them in on the wire plan, which they get started on right away. Shawn runs away while JJ handles the technical stuff.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Jada’s alone and working when Shawn returns. He tells her that Belle’s already on her way to EJ. He then tells Jada that JJ knows about what happened, but he can be trusted. Jada agrees, but… their secret isn’t secret. Stephanie and JJ both know, and she doesn’t want Rafe finding out from anyone else. Secrets don’t stay secret in Salem.

It’s time for her to tell him. Rafe shows up just as she’s about to call, and Jada asks Shawn to leave. She asks Rafe to take a seat while she talks. He does, and she grimaces.
The DiMera doorbell rings for once and naturally Harold is nowhere to be seen. EJ sighs and opens the door. “I got your text,” Belle tells him. “I miss you, too.” She asks to come in as EJ smiles.
Andrew calls the ISA for transport for Orpheus. But while he’s on the phone, Orpheus vanishes from right underneath him. Steve’s searching the facility when he hears a gunshot. He bursts into the room, to find a gunman and a man slumped over the desk. Marlena gets in right after Steve, sees the figure on the desk (face turned away) and is horrified. “Oh my God! Is it John?” (We’ve got some thoughts on if it is here.)
